Could it be Mike contributed to the vocal arrangement and how they were sang/what parts were sang? I'm just wondering because his songwriting credit on Mama Says has confused me as well. Maybe it goes beyond lyrics?
52  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Who other than Dennis would have been good in a film? on: May 26, 2017, 10:28:44 AM
I think a young Mike could have been good in a film if he played a character that was similar to his stage persona. I don't like when he actually tries to act like in Full House but if he could've been natural and played a kind of snarky, charismatic guy he could work in that role in a film.

I've just signed in Twitter, and been looking someone good to follow.

Now I have some questions:

・Who are good to follow when you want some discussions/news about music, especially related to Beach Boys?
・Who are good to follow when you want some funny stuff?

Stupid questions though, I'm glad if some of you answer me.

BB related: @thevandykeparks @beachboyslegacy
Funny stuff: @XplodingUnicorn @savagechickens @WorstLastWords
And I have just found this: @beachboysvine (funny and BB related)
I second VDP on twitter, he is very active and posts some interesting history and songs!

Welcome to few people AMW fan club. Some "carl r" liked it too.
I love it and I hate when people call it "wimpy" along with Bruce's compositions on Sunflower. Probably his best vocal he's ever done in my opinion.

I like the interview! Only nitpick is I wish he would've given a straight answer on the Let the Wind Blow question, I've been wondering that myself Grin
65  Smiley Smile Stuff / Polls / Re: Favorite Al Jardine Composition as a Beach Boy on: May 04, 2017, 06:35:14 PM
I don't think She's Got Rhythm is an Al Jardine composition, is it?
According to AGD's site, he co-wrote the song with Brian and Ron Altbach.

http://www.esquarterly.com/bellagio/albumarchive3.html
Ahhh I see. I was going off of Wikipedia which has it listed as a Love-Wilson-Altbach composition. I don't have my copy of MIU to check but he might've meant it was produced by Jardine? Or I could be completely wrong LOL

I really like BB85 and I don't get the hate for it. The production is similar to BW88 and people seem to look past that. People hate the album but I think it's one of the best post-Holland.

JK is wrong. I'd never seen before the assumingly new poster start talking with other posters like s/he knows them very well. Usually, they introduce themselves or ask questions to find out sth. etc. Add Some posted the usual stuff about Mike et al. So what? What's the big deal? Then this new poster "The Lovester" suddenly starts defending Mike like it's his best friend or family member. I really never understood the rampant defending of Mike. I didn't realize it hurts some of you so much that smb. says bad things about him. You're just fans, you're not related to Mike in any way. He's very-very rich & doesn't give 2 figs about random nobodys in the Internet defending him. Roll Eyes Unless of course, the payroll/ free tickets thing is true. You folks are really funny. I laugh when smb. starts defending Mike like he means wooorld to you. Ha!
I never defended Mike. I defended my right to look at a thread that doesn't mention how much someone dislikes him.  It just gets annoying. But if you guys don't care about that then why bother Grin I've already given it a rest, it seems you're the ones who can't let it go LOL

Interesting to listen to the perspective as 'lived' at that point in time.  Melinda was just new into developing a relationship slowly over time with Brian. And Brian alluded to her twice. Sounded like Landy was good for Brian at THAT time...according to Brian.  Brian seemed far more conversational back then...He had no trouble speaking off the top of his head and immediately reacting to the moment at hand.  What am I saying?  He doesn't SOUND like a victim here.

Then I hung in for some of Love and Stern.  Howard isn't "the ONLY person in the world who tells it like it is" Michael.  I do too...and I'll tell you what...I am NOT still crying, bitching and moaning about the same sh*t that pissed me off 30 years ago.  You...on the other hand...are.  S A D.  "We're singing that same song
We're still singing that same song
We're singing that same song
That same song
That same song

Same song
Oh yeah
Same song
Oh yeah
Same song that same song"

Do do do do do do-da...

You should add this song to your set list...Lead off with it, wrap up the first set with it, sing it again right after the intermission and then make it the last song in your encore.  That would likely end the need for encores...ever again.  Just like it's wiped out the need for interviews...ever again.

And THAT is the way that it IS.

He just asked about the photo. Is there ever a thread that goes by where you don't take it as an opportunity to attack a memeber of a band you supposedly like? I can understand in threads where it actually pertains to the topic but this was out of no where, adding nothing to the conversation. We get it, you hate Mike, everyone knows your opinion. Now can we have a real conversation?

Considering the torrent of Mike apologists on other forums I welcome Add Some's posts with open arms....not to mention OldSurferDude's seemingly lifetime supply of posts that put into words what most level headed fans are thinking. The amount of crap that gets swept under the rug just so some can sleep at night after they go to one of Mike's concerts is astounding.

Years/decades down the road when people are more vocal about the behind the scenes nonsense that takes place it'll be interesting to see where people stand on this issue. AKA, to whom it may concern, some fans aren't as fucking dumb as you think they are.
I'm sorry, I stopped taking you seriously when you said OldSurferDude and level headed into the same sentence LOL LOL LOL
But really, you commend posts that are completely off topic and mostly toxic, not having really any relation to what the OP wanted? And I would also like to know where I ever insinuated that some fans are "fucking dumb?" I simply asked why we can't have a thread that doesn't automatically turn to a collection of "w00ts" and who can make the "funniest" Mike joke.

I stopped taking you seriously after I read your first post on this board. Don't think you're gonna have much of a future here ding dong, but there is a place where you'd fit in so perfectly. They call it the Pet Sound Forum. How in the hell do you have the fucking nerve to dictate what we can post on any given thread?

Never said what you can a can't post, just wanted to remind you all that some of us like talking about more than one member of the band angel

Also, Lovester, this is a messageboard. As in, some threads get veered off topic one way or another because that's how conversations go sometimes. If you don't like that people are changing the topic, why not post something regarding the original topic instead of whining about what others are posting?
I do understand this is a message board, thank you. However, the way message boards work is that someone posts something with a certain topic, such as the OP asking about a certain photo of DENNIS and BRIAN. Now, he would expect all the posts to be about that photo of DENNIS and BRIAN. Nothing is helped at all when certain posters bring up certain members that do not have anything to do with the thread about the picture of DENNIS and BRIAN. These posts seek to do nothing more than disrupt the thread and attempt to change the topic. And, as this is a message board, I was able to tell the said poster that I think we should all stay on topic rather than derail the thread with the usual "MyKe LuHv is a prick" jargon. Is that really too much to ask for?

When OSD was commenting in every thread years ago about Myke, the apologists would go on for two pages or more about how he needs to be banned for trolling. The calls for his banning turned out to be more annoying than the original OSD posts that would start those whinefests. Point being, if you really don't like something, ignore it. After a time those who disliked OSD's posts started ignoring them and threads usually stayed on topic from there on.

Honestly, most of the time Lee posts something off topic no one really responds...OSD posted some woots in response to Lee here and this thread went back on topic again. The only thing veering this post off topic now is this conversation you and I are having.
I understand what you are saying, but why even have the option to ban anybody if you could just say to anybody "if you don't like it, ignore it." Now, i'm not saying we should ban the person just for talking about a member they don't like, but why even have the option when you could just say that to anybody about anything. What constitutes an offense that could be considered for a ban when repeatedly going off topic in a pointless way is just swept under the rug and you can just ignore everything?
