If I remember correctly, the law offices of F*ckwits and Sh*tweasel represented my ex-wife during the divorce proceedings.

Fan mixes that go for stereo-for-the-sake-of-stereo (such as the Purple Chick mix) are usually a total disaster. No thanks. If it's available in stereo, do it. If not, attempting to patch one together will almost always sound like ass.

I resemble that remark.

you... wat

My mix is stereo... although not just for stereo's sake.  It's mostly not ass-like though.  I figured why mix mono - Brian Wilson has already cornered that market.  Smiley

I haven't come across any true stereo mixes for "Holiday".  I faked mine.
105  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: SPOILER!!- Heroes and Villains and Good Vibrations from TSS on: September 02, 2011, 08:28:41 PM
Oh, I also hope the vinyl is sourced from analogue masters and not digital copies used in the box set or whatever, like Brian's 2004 Smile was (I own it but haven't yet played it though I hear it sounds absolutely fantastic). Any word on that kinda thing?

i would say it's highly unlikely (nearly impossible) that this is the case.  Brian's 2004 SMILE is a digital recording.

The LP's were cut from an analog tape copy of the 88.2k original.

Lol, like I almost did the day of the Box Set Leak!
I put on Alternate BWPS and meditated for the first time ever, ironically, waiting for H&V to come out, and look!

Although I've never heard any of them reference them in particular, I always assumed at least some of the Ramones -- Dee Dee or Joey? -- were big Beach Boys/Brian Wilson fans. That's sort of why I figured they covered "Do You Wanna Dance?" too, along with much of Rocket To Russia being seemingly very early-BBs influenced.

They covered "Surf City" and "Surfin' Safari" too.

Here's a link to my band's ReverbNation page.  There are a couple of songs from our new album on there.  Nothing Beach Boys-esque on there, though.  More of a Guns N' Roses feel.  The whole thing will be available via CD Baby, iTunes, or on actual CD by then of the month.  I'm still lobbying to get some vinyl pressed...

I'd rather listen to the fight than the re-recording.

The Sensational Alex Harvey band still performs, sans the late Mr. Harvey.

Just finished "Physics of the Future"  by Michio Kaku, halfway through Manning Marable's Malcolm X bio.  Think I'm going for some fiction next...

How was 'Physics of the Future'? I was thinking about reading it...

Brilliant and mind-bowing I couldn't recommend it more strongly.

Lot of good stuff here, but no one has mentioned Adam Marsland's Go West.

The funniest thing is the awful faux-metal guitar solo...

I was at Book Expo this week and was happy to see that the folks at Hal Leonard had your upcoming title prominently displayed.  Looking forward to reading it.

Harvard University Press just released an illustrated, uncensored edition of "The Picture of Dorian Gray".  I haven't read it yet, but I am looking forward to it.

I am currently reading Bob Mould's memoir "See A Little Light"

And yet, I'm happy to report I had a really GOOD experience, back on June 17, 2008, when I walked into my local Borders store.  After a couple of minutes looking for the POB/Bambu Legacy Edition, a helpful young stocking girl asked if she could help me.  I told her what I was looking for, and she knew right where it was on her stock cart.  There's someone who knows her business!

And a company going out of business...

I'll be getting mine here - I guarantee they'll know all about it.  I'll go to Best Buy when I need a new washing machine.

I gotta admit that out of many many various "SMiLE" bootlegs I've heard, this one is my favorite by far! Smiley
The only thing that sometimes puts me off a bit is that the songs are mixed into 3 large pieces and it's hard to "navigate" through this version. But on the other side I believe this mixing creates some of its grandeur. Anyway, great job Smiley

The "lossless" version has the tracks separated, if that's any help at all.  It's available on some bittorent sites.  I split it up because having it in lumps annoyed me too.

Thanks for the kind words.

I caved when I got home last night and bought one on eBay.  $32.99, plus $4 shipping.  I may have been able get one  cheaper by bidding, but I don't have the time or patience.  I don't think I'll regret this purchase.

The Carnegie show was not sweetened at all, as far as I can tell.  They did, however, choose the pest performances from the two nights for broadcast.

Really? I'll readily admit that it is extremely contagious, but as for the rest...  Roll Eyes

I really shouldn't type standing on my head.
