I have Behold The Night but I understand it's very rare and only a few people have it so I won't be leaking it onto YouTube because I dont wanna get in trouble or giving it to anybody, all i'll say is it's beautiful and typical Dennis

I barely participate here, but will do as I was thinking just the same (or kinda) a few days ago.

I do agree that the song has not "aged" well in these last 4 years (at least for me). Don't get me wrong either, it's very good! But it was not AS good (nearly perfection) as they where selling. I almost stopped listening to it, after the excitement of its release went away it desapeared from my "favourites" BB' songs list. There are plenty of way better songs than this one, even Dennis solo songs.

That being said, I do think that it would have been great to have it on Surf's up; I can think of 3 songs that could have replaced.

i didn't need to replace anything, just add that and 4th Of July

it's one of Dennis Wilson's best songs, absolutely amazing and stunning, it's a crime that it took this long to get a release, it should have been released in 1993 on the Good Vibrations set. Dennis also has another very pretty song still in the vaults called Behold The Night which absolutely needs to come out and also Carry Me Home

63  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / icanhearmusic551 YouTube Update on: May 08, 2017, 04:48:22 PM
Hey everyone my last YouTube channel known as icanhearmusic551 was taken down due to copyright and i've had alot of support messages on here and on the Pet Sounds forum.

What I've done is made a new channel and I will be re-visiting my alternate versions of albums that I uploaded on my old channel.  I will be more careful with this channel and I will not upload anything from my previous channel that was taken down due to copyright, including Sweet Insanity and Remember The Zoo and Slightly American Music...

I hope I can get a good following again on here, thanks for watching and happy listening Smiley

My first upload will be up in about 2 hours

69  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Name One Song You'd Wish The BBs Should Have Covered on: April 15, 2017, 03:10:30 PM
"I'm Into Something Good"

The bonus track on TLOS got me thinking...what if the Beach Boys had covered that on the Love You album?  That would've been cool.

or

"Sailing"

with Carl on lead with some new background harmonies.

Brian Wilson demoed I'm Into Something Good in 1972/73 he hemtioned it in his book I Am Brian Wilson

i've gotta say i prefer the minute long Beach Boys version with the organ, if that was masted and released with the backing vocals brought up it would be gorgeous, clearly Carl, Brian and Mike and Al singing the backing vocals.
72  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Out In The Country on: April 11, 2017, 02:28:19 PM
I have the Don Goldberg version on my hard drive. Why did he cover it though? He wrote Sweet And Bitter didn't he? So did he help Alan out with this tune, 'maybe. And is this Goldberg backing track A So Tough recording?
