I think it was originally called Grateful Are We For Little Children and Dennis Wilson and Steven Kalinich were involved, started in 1968 and was also worked on in 1975
27  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: 1968 Copyright Extension prediction thread on: December 18, 2017, 05:36:35 AM
it was only the bridge section of New Song that was known to collectors as Indian Wisdom or Spanish Guitar Song

I’d be pretty upset if we had to wait till 2035 to hear Oh Lord. Very unfair on some of you life long fans who have always been there. If I was Old I would be very upset that I may never hear Boys And Girls And Oh Lord studio Version   Hope it gets sorted out

Are you sure this song is not getting mixed up with something else. Brian and Dennis did not collaborate but on Thankful Are We For Little Children it says that's written by Brian Dennis and Kalinich
34  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: the Bambu Sessions on: August 24, 2017, 08:10:42 AM
Dennis still has a bunch of unreleased songs from the POB/Bambu era

Flowers Come In The Spring - Lady re-recorded
Hellen Keller - Dennis on lead with lyrics by Steve Kalinich
Don't Want Much Just A Country Or Two Maybe A Planet Before It's Through - another one written with Kalinich
Mona Kana - Re-recording of Mona Kani from 1968
Marble Sittin On A Kitchen Table - Another Kalinich lyric
Life Symphony - Another co-write with Kalinich
End Of The Show - Alternate version with Bruce Johnston on backing vocals
I Didn't Mean To Make You Cry - dunno
Takin' Off - ?
Here Comes The Sun - Cover of the Beatles song
Oh Darling - Supposedly also a Beatles cover
Fever - ?
My Loves Coming Down - Part of this turned into Love Remember Me and apparently the beginning of it is a re-recorded version of the unreleased song 'All Of My Love'
Down In Mexico - something to do with San Miguel
Something New - ?
Let Me Out Of Here - Apparently considers for the LA(Light Album) at some stage along with Wild Situation, Time For Bed, Constant Companion and I Love You
Shu-Ru-Bop - A Carli Munoz song
La Plena de Amor - Another Munoz tune
Labour Day - apparently there is a tape labeled 'Labour Day' which features a piano and vocal track by Dennis, this was Dennis Wilson's last known session.

They also worked on a song called Down By The Pier with Carl on lead vocals in 1984

I'm A Man Is Not A Cover. Despite what Bellagio and Wikipedia says, Brian wrote the song

Isint Burlesque lost as well? I heard somewhere that if it existed it would have been released by now cause it was pretty good

Don't know why Celebrate The News is ranked so highly. Our Sweet Love is so much better. Celebrate The News just does not fit

40  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Love You: Was It the Last Great Album of BB? on: June 08, 2017, 01:31:50 AM
I also don't like Love You as much as some, I think some of the songs are great, I'll Bet He's Nice and The Night Was So Young and Let Us Go On This Way, the rest I don't think are that great. One thing that annoys me about this time is that MIU is ridiculed and so is  the song Hey Little Tomboy from that album, but Hey Little Tomboy is from the Love You sessions and I have a hunch that if Hey Little Tomboy was on Love You it would have been treated differently same with My Diane, that is a great song but I think people would go nuts for it in reviews if it was on Love You. many times it comes down to a particular album for another example, the LA Light Album is also bagged but usually only for Here Comes The Night, many forget that it still has 4 of 5 really strong cuts on it   So in saying all of this I think if Say, Johnny Carson was left off Love You and appeared on MIU it would have been absolutely torn to shreds by critics.  But was Love You the last great BB album, no I don't think it's a great album at all. I think it's ok. The last GREAT Beach Boys Album I think was Holland, the last good Beach Boys Album was LA

I took the challenge.  I do hear what you're hearing.

Question:  how was this version generated?  Is this some kind of phase cancellation?

came from a Rough Mix of Long Promised Road. And I played around with it on Adobe Audition. I think I could do a much better job of bringing those vocals up
42  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Did Brian Attempt The Lead Of Long Promised Road? on: June 06, 2017, 11:27:04 AM
Did Brian Wilson have a go at singing Long Promised Road?

This may be the biggest long-shot in the history of long-shots, and I posted this on the Pet Sounds forum too but I swear I hear Brian Wilson in this version of Long Promised Road. Carl's Vocal has been taken down and the backing vocals have been slightly lifted, and when I was listening to it I reallocation y thought I could hear Brian in the chorus, and I kept listening and I really do think it's his voice singing the chorus next to Carls voice. Now this may just be me but i'm interested to know what you guy think, you can call me an idiot if you want. Listen to where the chorus starts to come in where it goes "of climbing up to reality's goal" and the "knock down all the road blocks, a stumbling' me" then you may hear it, but listen through the whole song cause I think he is in every chorus and maybe even buried in there in the verses. Of coarse this does not necessarily mean Brian attempted the lead on this song it could just be standard overdubbing.

If its not Brian it's still somebody

By the way, I love this song!!

haha it would not surprise me if that's all he came up with. Wasn't it on Help Me Rhonda. The only thing he contributed  to that was the Bow Bow Bow bit

What would be the 15 great Beach Boys songs still in the Vaults. I can think of a few

Carry Me Home
Boys And Girls
Out In The Country
Burlesque
Stevie
I'm A Man
I've Got A Friend(Backing Track)

47  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: The Beach Boys Wild Honey(Sunshine Tomorrow) 2CD Set? on: May 19, 2017, 05:09:02 PM
I'm still trying to figure these two tracks out:

22 Game Of Love (Outtake / Live / 1967)

24 With A Little Help From My Friends (Stereo Mix / Live / 1967)

They surely weren't played on the bottlegged Hawaii shows. Of "With a little help from my friends" there's only that studio recording with Bruce on lead making the rounds. Or is it filed under "live" because it was recorded during the sweetening sessions for the live album (if that is even the case)?

It nah be a slight typo possibly. Because those two songs were recorded during sessions at Brian's house

this is very interesting. also in the lastest issue of ESQ Al Jardine states that there will be a 2cd issue revolving around the Wild Honey era and other recordings from 1967
