76  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Brian and Melinda adopt another son on: October 13, 2009, 10:00:07 PM
As I've mentioned earlier, I think, I put a child up for adotption back in 1970 and it was because I loved the child that I did what was best for him. This being said, nowadays, there are alot of open adoptions going on. I'll tell you what...if I were the birth mother in this case, I really would rather my child NOT go to the Wilson's. Because of their age and their fame. Those are two facts going against the child. The age doesn't need to be explained. They are definitely over the age that most states consider for adoptive parents. How they pulled this off will remain in your own minds, and I think we can all figure that one out. The fame part doesn't seem to help any child. Just read the newspapers. I have no respect for Missy and I think Brian is led by his nose. End of my story.

You do not adopt children with the attitude that if you're not around someone else will take care of them. That's like a drug addict having children. Let someone else take care of the kids. This whole idea of people at their age adopting children is just crazy. The best interest of the child is what's at stake, not passing them down to someone else. I'm sure there are so many other younger, well qualified couples out there seeking a child to adopt that would have been a much better and wiser choice here. I don't even think I'd want to live in that household.

I only wish them the best, truly, but all the money and nannies in the world does not bring normalcy.

I too, am an older parent, and now a single one at that. I am going on 61 and my son just turned 17. I am just concerned that the courts just seem to not look closely enough at the welfare of the child. They are supposed to do what is BEST for the child's interest. I only wish them all the best, but sometimes people push the envelope, know what I mean?Huh I saw the brood at a concert in Pasadena a couple of years ago when they only had the 3 kids. There wer 2 nannies there for them then. At least there's work out there for nannies. Isn't it rumored that Brad Pitt is even putting the limit on their craziness?Huh I just hope they grow up with out issues.

I think that there is something really, really wrong with them being allowed to adopt another young baby at their age. What the hell was that judge thinking about?HuhHuh You don't adopt kids like you go clothing shopping or dog shopping for that matter. Don't they have 17 dogs or about that many?Huh? Somebody better stop that woman........
82  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Have you gone through a [insert name] phase? on: September 25, 2009, 07:16:32 AM
I'm still going through my Dennis phase in that I've always been attracted to drummers. Even dated a couple of them in my day. None could match up to Dennis tho. I must admit tho, that Mike D'Amcio is looking really good to me!!!!

I personally found that dating/marrying younger men doesn't work. You can't train them!!!!

David, I had planned on attending this, but flying into Charlotte from Chicago is quite expensive for such a short weekend. Plus I'd have to rent a car to get to the event. Maybe next year, you could have it at Myrtle Beach, or another town that's easier to fly in and out of.

Hope all goes well at the convention and really wish I could be there, but due to finances this year, it's out of my league!!!!

Thanks for the update Ed. What I want to know, is what, who, how much, and what can WE do to talk you into publishing your story and photos?Huh? NOT just because you were Dennis' best buddy, but because it seems like you've had such a cool (most of the time), life. You've lived the life that so many here wish they could have.  I know it's a time consuming thing, but Ed, you have GOT to do it!!!!!

How can we help?Huh??

96  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / The Sandbox / Re: Another one of Bluebird's victims....I've omitted the author to protect them! on: August 21, 2009, 01:55:03 PM
Hi Guys/Gals,

Here's the latest on the Bird. Someone very high up in the BB world has informed the management about a month ago about the situation. They do not approve of what she has done, and I'm sure will keep an eye out for her. No more BS passes for her!!! She's been in hiding on the blooey since I brought up the subject of the loan I made to her and lack of repayment. She had me fooled as you well know, apparently alot of others as well. She still has had no contact with me since last June, and I fear I will have to spend the extra dough to file a small claims case.  I don't think she will show up as I'm in Illinois, she's in Maryland. She's full of crap about being broke. She has access to someones bank account as she has sent me a check. It's still in her married name even tho she's divorced. There are even a couple of BW's band members who are not pleased with her and that's as far as I'll go on that.

Thanks to all of you for your support on this...I can surely use it.  Will keep you informed as to the outcome of this!

98  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Autographed Albums - the Signed Goat and SMiLE on: August 18, 2009, 10:21:04 AM
There are trade-offs in life tho. I never got to see the original BB in concert back in the day. I had medical problems that prevented concert going. Maybe I'm making up for lost time now that I'm 60!!! I'm making up for alot of things now!!!! At Mayfest last May, I got to hang out a bit with David Marks and his wife Carrie, met Al, Matt, and all the guys that were playing in the band, and got quite a few autographs there as well. You must come out there next spring. It's a fantastic time!!!! Hotel/condo rates are cheap and the beach is right there!!!! Always a great time with fellow fans!!

I must admit, I would seriously consider trading all the autographs I have acquired for a sit down meeting with Dennis!!!!
99  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Autographed Albums - the Signed Goat and SMiLE on: August 18, 2009, 07:24:09 AM
It's funny that you mention Brian signing the goat on Pet Sounds and that he always does that. I first got to meet him in South Bend last November. Of course I brought my 1966 PS album. When I got up to him, I asked him to please sign on the white goat. He apparently didn't hear me as he started to sign on the brown goat above it. Jeff caught him and said, "No Bri, the white goat", so I kind of have 2 autographs on the album. He signed Bri on the brown goat!!! I also brought a dvd with that I had bought from ESQ and had Probyn and Darian sign it. They were quite surprised to see that someone had purchased it, as they hadn't see it yet!!! Also brought a Jeff Foskett cd for him to sign as well. I didn't think I'd ever get that chance again to get BS, so it was well worth it to bring as much as I could!!!!

Three days later at the Chicago concert, I was lucky enough to get BS passes from the Chicago contest winner and had brought nothing to get signed, so I ran out to the lobby and bought another TLOS program. I had Brian sign it on the page with his photo...the one that shows his beautiful blue eyes. While leaving the theater, Mikey D'Amico was chatting with some guy and I asked him if he'd come home with me!!! He jokingly said "Sure, but you have to drive me to Washington by Tuesday"  We both just laughed the whole time, but it was great to get that close to him!!!! Just a nice guy!!!! ( I was serious about taking him home tho!!!!!)

I ended up making a great trade of my unsigned TLOS program for a signed TLOS vinyl. Someone didn't get a program and had an extra signed vinyl they didn't need, so hence the trade. I think I made out pretty well on one weekend of the TLOS tour!!!! What a treat that was!!!!
100  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Knebworth on VH1 Classics tonight, 8/14, 11 PM eastern time. on: August 14, 2009, 09:01:49 PM
It's on again at 1 AM Eastern as well, if you don't already have it on CD. Just finished watching it, and as always, it's great, but sad in a way too. Since it was the last time all of the 5 original guys were together for a concert. I had never gotten to see them all together and boy, if I could go back in time....................................

I thought they were fantastic, and especially Dennis!!!! Man, he could rock!!!! Brian actually made it all the way through too!!!!!

Ah, for the good times!!!!   Looking forward more than ever to BW's show in Milwaukee this fall!
