IMHO.. The Beach Boys are the GREATEST vocal group of the 20th century.. I know im biased but i believe its true.. No other group or vocalist has ever been able to stir my emotions and tears.. PERIOD

could it be a flanger or phaser guitar effect..the wilder the sound the more likely its a flanger.. but i dont have the disk in truck to listen too.. just guessing..

Well it was a long time ago so my feeling is CW played lead on the oldies and mostly using a distortion pedal.. I dont remember Blondie playing much lead except on the newer stuff like SOS + Marcella.. They had a Huge rockin sound back then..His guitar could allways be heard..Bass i cant recall when he played that.. Now in this time period BB played " Jumpin Jack Flash ".. I suspect it was CW + Blondie on that one.. When they played that one it used explode of the stage..

I was at the last show in Costa Mesa Ca.. OUTSTANDING show the best of the 3 ive seen this year.. yes BW look tired and with the heavy touring last couple of years his voice is blown out.. he needs a nice long rest to save his voice.. al and matt sang more leads on PS part of show ..  I looked at the set list from previous message and they didnt do SD  LDC YSGM LHRW.. for the life of me i cant remember what they played instead.. the whole show without intermission was about 2hr 15 min..  and yes BW enjoys the 1st set alot..the new WH songs and susi cincinati were GREAT..!! Probyn is playing a strat 12 string.. fender doesnt make a strat 12 string to my knowledge. so who made it i do not know.  the female that played keyboards was excellent.. she sang played and danced the whole show. also she was grinning from ear to ear the whole show.. she REALLY loves playing in the band and was a joy to watch.  now Blondie is another matter.. he should take his LEAD guitar playing more seriously.  i know he isnt al dimeola or a jeff beck or clapton but he does play well.. on this tour his solos consisted of double picking the e + b string up and down the neck and it sounded like freakin NOISE..  a terrible noise.. very disapointed  Blondie..!! the band was  HOT as usual with LOTS of energy.. overall a GREAT nite of music.. hey Brian go home and rest your voice and it will come back.. GOD bless BW and his band.. and thanks for the MEMORIES..

i allways thought Jeff had more of a Dean Torrence kind of voice than BW voice. Jeff sounded better being doubled by Taylor Mills back in the day.. Smile comes to mind..

YEA..!! Suzi rocks .!  Oh my with this addition and the Wild Honey songs im gonna have to make it to Costa Mesa Ca for BW last concert..  It"s obvious Melinda check"s out this board.. Songs we wanted are being added to set list..  What a pleasant surprise..!  When they put out a DVD next year i hope they compile these songs and others on  a 2nd disk..

I was at this show and it was OUTSTANDING..!! BW was groovin to the music rockin back and forth like Ray Charles..  One of the very best BB shows i have ever seen. ! The energy from the stage was so beautiful to see and hear..

I dont have the boot handy right now so how many of the songs on the boot have been taken off  this legit release??  Seems like a couple at least because there are a couple of songs i dont recognize. And recording GV ? That better be a GREAT track because isnt that song their most artistic statement.. OH MY.. Well at least he didnt re record Barbara Ann LOL.. Why doesnt he release a live DVD and call it Mike and Bruce and friends..??  If your gonna re record your hits a live DVD would be much better.. Especially with the band he has now.. Ill buy this new cd  tho.

Actually doin all those Wild Honey songs is pretty cool. Seen BW twice this year and missed out on that. Im surprised Country Air hasnt been played..  A favorite of mine. Lots of harmonies.

GREAT IDEA.. Have an investor fund  a live show and film it.. Al Jardine and friends..With blondie and david.  And BW tour band.. Heck have BW do a guest shot for a couple of songs at end.. Im sure all us fans would buy it...keep the budget tight also.. And what happened to the Mike and Bruce show filmed for austin city limits or something like that.. We talked about it a few years ago.. Anyone ever seen it on TV ?

Styx only does a couple of songs written by the departed keyboard player.. Most of the ballads they dont do anymore.. Keyboard player plays all the stuff on his solo tours.. The songs Styx"s plays are all written by the guitar players..  I saw them recently and it was still a good show.. More guitar orientated  less keyboards..

When i saw BB in 70"s Ricky played a lap steel on stage either in a chair or on floor on one knee.. never saw him play a full pedal steel guitar on stage.

BW doesnt tour for the money and doesnt need it.. I think part of the reason he tours is to keep the BAND together.. When they dont tour they collect unemployment just like we do from our jobs.. I got that from 2 band members on the 2012 C50 tour.. Those guys arent rich like BW.. Also i read somewhere recently that BW tours cause when he doesnt tour he thinks of DYING.. He needs things to do so not to dwell on his age  and the  future.. Hell i just turned 65 and i think about dying everyday but dont dwell on it.   I think he should do much more solo songs and not tour so intense take more breaks. like when he first started touring..

well i saw BW at greek th. los angeles ca 2015. BW played songs from NPP Smile and Friends and audience ate it up. the best recieved songs were the songs he doesnt normaly play..  A 4 -5000 seat theater he should be close to a sell out anywhere.. so i still stand by my post.. Mike + Bruce do greatest hits.. BW should explore his  solo music.. He has nothin to lose. He doesnt tour for the money. he tours because he is a musician.. If i was in BW band and he offered me LESS money to tour his solo music with a greatest hits set or Smile or TLOS. Id take it in a heartbeat... SO WOULD THEY.. The alternitive would be Unemployment insurance.. Club gigs and who knows what.. Ive actually talked to the band what do they do when BW doesnt tour.. Unemployment insurance.. gigs with tribute bands etc.. small potatoes..so workin with BW on a smaller scale shouldnt be a problem.. TOP  money for unemployment in CA is...450.00 a week.... but this isnt about the money its about...HISTORY

Since BW is bored with singing PS after 2 yrs why not Smile or Lucky old sun ? BW has stated that a big weight was lifted off his shoulders when Smile was finished.. Demons gone..  WELL.. Before he retires he should do his other masterpieces.. He has al and matt to carry part of the load so why not. ? I believe its time for a nother challenge for him.. Before he retires into the sunset..  Or how about the best of TLOS Gershwin  and disney and a greatest hits set.. I dunno know.. He wants to continue to tour nso lets do it right.. Or do one hour of the best of BW solo stuff and a greatest hits set.. He has nothin to lose. I want to hear songs that are rarely played now.. Surfs Up.. Matt could sing 1st part and BW could sing 2nd part.. Many ways he could do tthis.. His highest charting solo lp"s are 1988 lp Smile TLOS Gershwin.. I want to continue seeing BW in concert . BUT.. We need a set revamp..BW is a musical ICON.... Play your stuff in sMALLER .halls aND SHOW YOUR CREATIVE MUSE... i love ALL bw MUSIC.. Please play your stuff.. We will be there for you.. I like both albums but i prefer .. TLOS.. Better songs and more creative.. BW works well with Scott Bennett.

I agree the Pet Sounds tours in 2000 and Smile tours 2004-05 were OUTSTANDING.. Saw PS in  Santa Barbara and Hollywood bowl with orchestras..Didnt BW play PS in England and Europe in 2001 + 02.. ? I saw the short PS tour 2007 with 1st appearance  of Alan Jardine..The ovation for Al when he came out in Long Beach Ca  brought tears to my eyes.. Welcoming back an old friend... Memories.

If i remember right Blondie had a relative that died and  he wanted to go to funeral and wasnt aloud to go..  By one of the Love brothers.  Things got worse and Blondie got in an argument later on in tour and was threatned and the " N " word was used so he quit the band.. None of BB band was involved in incident.. Blondie got a RAW deal.
