Indeed. That's not being clarified.

So... looks like the promised Spring UK/Europe 2016 tour is narrowing down late February/early March, maybe late April/May or... ah, that's it.

Sounds realistic! Based in Germany, I really hope for shows in Berlin and Hamburg, maybe even Frankfurt and Munich. We'll see.

5  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / General Music Discussion / Re: Rank the Beatles' Studio Albums on: September 17, 2015, 02:35:53 PM
Please, let's concentrate on the original UK releases! Otherwise there's no comparability between listings.

And "Magical Mystery Tour" doesn't count as a regular Beatles-LP. Nowhere! Because it and was never conceived as such, for any market. It was originally a Double-Single/E.P. in Britain and Europe and a compilation album made by Capitol in the States a few weeks later. It just doesn't compare to the others in terms of context and artistic intention! It's as fruitless as ranking "Endless Summer", "Bona Drag" or "The Masterplan" with "Pet Sounds", "Your Arsenal" and "Definitely Maybe"!
6  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: I used to steer clear of the later stuff on: September 14, 2015, 11:24:17 AM
Im my book, the last truly essential joint release is "Love You". After that it's pretty much a matter of finding "your own way", depending on the strength of your nerves and your personal tastes in solo work.
7  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Albums you would change the titles to.. on: September 14, 2015, 08:46:51 AM
Shut Down Volume Two > Keep an Eye On Summer

Surf's Up > Pendulum (serving as both, as a cultural reference taken from the title track and as a hint on the inconsistency
of the material included)

Carl And The Passions - 'So Tough' > So Tough

15 Big Ones > Back Home or Rock 'n' Roll Music

M.I.U. > I Want You Back (quote from "My Diane")

L.A. Light Album > Good Timin'

Keepin' The Summer Alive > Goin' On

The Beach Boys `85 > Where We Belong
8  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: The Wilson Project now expanded on: September 01, 2015, 10:12:31 AM
I've never got my hands on a copy of the book itself, but nonetheless I'm quite familiar with a bootleg version that a friend of mine played to me once or twice.

I remember enjoying "Black Widow" and "Turning Point" quite a lot, but really out of context so. May anyone supply a complete or approximated "sessionography" of Brian's and Gary's mutual work around that specific point of time? I'm still not that sure which recordings are genuinely countable as part of their sessions, and which sessions actually just got attached to the bootleg release(s). Some clarification would be welcome!

Before the Asher-Wilson mafia changed the lyrics and all of the music, the record
now known as the first true West Coast rap album, was all Mike's baby.

Phatt Sounds: The Mike Matters LP

A:

1. Wouldn't It Be Nice To Be Mike
2. You Better Believe In Me
3. That's Not Mike
4. Don't Talk (Put Your Cash In My Pocket)
5. I'm Waiting At The Bay
6. Let's Pimp Your Ride With Mike
7. Mike Ed L.

12  Smiley Smile Stuff / Brian Wilson Solo Albums / Re: That Lucky Old Sun on: August 17, 2015, 06:30:42 AM
I gave it a four. Easily my favourite Solo record by Brian Wilson and in frequent rotation
since the day it was released. Even the recitals fit in rather well and add imho to both, pacing
and atmosphere. "Good Kind of Love",  "Forever She'll Be My Surfer Girl", "Midnight’s Another Day" and
"Going Home" were instant classics, and remain essential BW listening.
13  Smiley Smile Stuff / 'Rank the Tracks' / Re: Rank the tracks #17: Surf's Up on: August 17, 2015, 04:36:24 AM
Pretty uneven. "The Pit And The Pendulum" would have been a far more adequate title.
A shame, Dennis' contemporary work hasn't been included! "4th Of July" and especially
"Wouldn't It Be Nice To Live Again" (replacing "Student Demonstration Time" and "...Feet")
would've helped the LP considerably.

01. Til' I Die
02. Surf's Up
03. Long Promised Road
04. Feel Flows
05. A Day In  The Life Of A Tree
06. Disney Girls
07. Don't Go Near The Water
08. Lookin' At Tomorrow
09. Student Demonstration Time
10. Take A Load Off Your Feet
14  Smiley Smile Stuff / 'Rank the Tracks' / Re: Rank the tracks #16: Sunflower on: August 17, 2015, 04:20:59 AM
My second favourite Beach Boys-LP after "Pet Sounds", and in my book their last truly consistent joined effort.

01. Forever
02. This Whole World
03. All I Wanna Do
04. Cool, Cool Water
05. Our Sweet Love
06. Slip On Through
07. It's About Time
08. Add Some Music
09. At My Window
10. Deidre
11. Got To Know The Woman
12. Tears In The Morning
