anyone know if the artwork made by frank homes will be included? It would be sweet if they come in a large glossy paper or poster. Also wasn't there a completed smile booklet in 67?

mike also rewrote the lyrics to good vibrations which I prefer his (Mike Love) lyrics I remember reading he wrote them as they were driving to the recording studio and his cool head warm heart song is just plain awesomeness Grin

5  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Mike now talking 50th Reunion with Brian on: September 06, 2009, 08:59:52 AM
yea thats another thing the boys have to work together like they did in the mid 60s brian and mike have to wright songs together! One idea I visioned would be a double album 1 cd would be your normal 12 or 14 track cd that covers everything the beach boys stood for (cars, beach. girls, some rockin songs like from the early 70s era, etc) and cd 2 could be a ep 5 or 6 tracks were brian will make a mini  phychadellic masterpiece kinda like a pet sounds or smile

yes please a beach boys reunion  Grin get mike, al, brian, david, and bruce together not too mention record a new album together as a one last amazing album like what the beatles did with abbey road..

I would love to get my hands on this myself and let someone mix the track to form a song oh well it's probably lost cause it would of been booted by now...

12  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Big News - Mike Love records with Al Jardine on: November 06, 2008, 09:59:33 AM

16  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: POB debuts in Billboard catalog chart at #8 on: June 26, 2008, 09:36:38 AM
AMAZING!

Let's hope this sends out a signal to the folks at Capitol... This is still a market for rare and unreleased Beach Boys material...

Quality rare & unreleased BB material.  Roll Eyes

unlike Andrew I went them to re release the 2 carl wilson albums. Look at the beatles all of there solo work is avaible and us beach boys fans Brain's work is the one thats commerically avaible. now with Dennis aside release carls now Grin

19  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: My POB/Bambu deluxe CD on: June 16, 2008, 11:59:16 AM

20  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Beach Boys intrumentals on: June 10, 2008, 01:29:26 PM
yes those are great songs and real 'surf music' songs. I also liked what Bruce did with the nearest faraway place on 20/20 great track
21  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: brian and mike writing team on: June 10, 2008, 08:11:10 AM
well I also prefer  mikes lyrics on good vibrations then the tony asher/brian wilson one so i guess one person wrote the majority of the song and the other one filled out the gaps or hooks
22  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / brian and mike writing team on: June 09, 2008, 09:20:19 PM
I was wondering how is the writing partnership between Brian and Mike since they wrote most of the beach boys songs like john and paul from the beatles. How much input did Mike have etc.
23  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Help Me with Smile! (not asking for downloads) on: May 16, 2008, 10:17:52 AM
i doubt that winds chimes or vegatables are part of the elements suite since there is a small piano track thats supposed to be the air section and in recordings of wind chimes or vegatables they didn't say the elements part 3 like with fire and i love to say da-da recordings that were part 1 and 2 of the elements. I always imagined the elements as an instrumental suite with some chanting here and their like fire.
24  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Smiley Smile June 3rd 1967 on: May 16, 2008, 10:04:40 AM
yea smiley smile is great i love the album cover too. I think the album adds more humour than smile actually. like other ppl said the sound is very dry  at times and also very interesting and bueatiful like the hummings and singing in little pad or wistle in great closing track.
25  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Help Me with Smile! (not asking for downloads) on: May 16, 2008, 09:58:19 AM
hmm interesting im curious to hear this now anyone has it yet lol so im guessing the earth element wasn't even started and smile was already dead they just barely made a wind section. I wonder how the elements would be a one song instrumental piece were all the sections fire, water, wind, earth all seque into each other?
