Mike's so called "Beach Boys" have really gone down hill in the last couple of years.  Mike can barely sing and Bruce sounds like he's had a stroke.  The band is not good.  Everything is off and the vocals are terrible.  And I just don't get the band's obsession with Stamos.  Stamos just bounces around the stage like a hyperactive toddler making a fool of himself.  The music deserves better than this.  It is truly sad.

I'm surprised Mike didn't insist that they include a figure of John Stamos with the set.

 I wonder what exactly David was told when was asked to rejoin the band.  He only stayed with Mike until mid 1999.

It's an entirely different sound, and it's not good.  The effort seems to go into cheap theatrics with little care as to the quality of the music.

 I think this is the first time I've posted something negative, but I am really disappointed with what I'm seeing from Mike & Bruce's group.  John Stamos and Mark McGrath just bounce around the stage like hyperactive kids.  I think John Stamos literally has to try out every microphone on stage.  They add nothing but nonsense to the show.  I also thought the vocals were quite weak.  The overall sound reminds me of a bar band that really doesn't care that much.  They know that everybody is just there to party.  I really wish the music was being given more respect.  I know Mike and Bruce aren't young anymore, but they could put together a much better show that what they are giving people.

Has anyone attended a recent meet and greet?  How is Brian appearing at these?  Does he sign autographs at all anymore?

They have an amazing selection offered, and they look to be reputable, but honestly, some of the signatures look suspicious to me.  I wouldn't be comfortable paying a high price for their pieces.  But, that is only my opinion based on what I've seen and collected over the years.

I remember one time seeing that "Brian Johnson" was playing on the tour.

It's amazing how many factual errors appear in these type of articles. Wrong names. Wrong names put to pictures. Always just basic 'checkable' flubs.

Brian Wilson always will be the best, but it seems like he's having a more difficult time singing these days.

 Interlochen is a fantastic venue to see a show.  I wonder if they'll be doing the meet and greet packages for this show?

I remember reading at one time that Brian said "The Bucket List" was his favorite movie.  I also saw in one of his early fan club newsletters that he had seen "The Truth About Cats And Dogs" and "Twister".  He mentioned that "Twister" was scary but good.

It's been 20 years, and I wonder what Carl would look like today.

 Does anyone know why Brian E left the road?

 I have been collecting Beach Boys guitar picks for over 20 years, but I recently heard of a Brian Wilson pick that I'm unfamiliar with.  There are many tortoise picks with white print from the 1980s.  Most of them are Carl Wilson picks and there is an Al Jardine version.  My question is, has anybody ever seen a tortoise pick with white print that has "Brian Wilson" on it?

 My understanding was that all of the 1980s Brian Wilson picks were white with either blue or black print.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Agreed, it's very cool.  Especially at the C50 show with all surviving members onstage. 

Though, I think I'd prefer them to do a song Dennis actually wrote instead of Do You Wanna Dance.

I was sitting in the front row at a C50 show.  I'll never forget the look on Brian's face as he sat there watching his dead brothers sing on the screen.  It was very emotional.  I also remember Al looking a bit choked up as he watched Carl singing "God Only Know" on the screen. Sad, but beautiful.

 I often wonder if Mike had any belief that Brian might tour more regularly with them after Al left.  They seemed on decent terms during 1996, although Brian wasn't much of a live performer. 1997 and 1998 were certainly strange years.

One Christmas CD I regret parting with is "Hey Santa!" by Wendy and Carnie. This 1999 album features a guest vocal by Carl, and a vintage 1977 home recording with Brian on piano and the Beach Boys' children singing, "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus". Fortunately, there are plenty available, it can be found cheap. On this note, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

You can always hear it at pretty much any grocery store.  They all seem to play "Hey Santa" very frequently.

What amazes me is that if you look at official sites such as VIP Nation, many of the very expensive "VIP" packages do NOT include a meet and greet.  In relation to many of the tours, I think The Beach Boys are actually quite generous with their packages.  I believe Mike & Bruce's VIP package is about $250 which gives you soundcheck, photo op, autographs, merchandise, and more.
