The latest missile published in the Kokomo Gazette, formerly known as ESQ, is just another passive aggressive hit piece on Brian Wilson - another attempt at extolling the glory and wonders of Mike Love and the touring Beach Boys.

It is plain to see that these articles are being proof read and approved by the Tahoe Bunker - either that, or the editor and writer of this garbage is nothing more than the greatest fluffer Mike Love ever had.

This just in! Unimpeachable sources on The BBB Board have confirmed that the anti-Mike terrorist "Smile Brian " is really one Christian Love.

1 - exactly what Brian's "commitments" September 18th-27th are. Newly scheduled concerts not admissible. Let's be honest, the movie will be history at the box office by then.

2 - which genius decided Brian could sell over 107,000 tickets in the UK in ten days, and which comparable genius looked at the venues proposed and said "sure, looks fine to me".

3 - who had the bright idea that Brian needs support, and then booked a one-hit wonder and an ageing US band that last had a UK hit in the mid seventies.

4 - most importantly, who in Brian's organisation thought we'd be dumb enough to buy the reasons given for the cancellation. That's hugely insulting to all the UK fans and we deserve an apology, and the truth: that the tickets simply were hardly selling at all. I've heard some semi-official sales figures for a couple of venues and frankly my hair stood on end. That bad. 2000 tickets sold at the RFH is a 75% full house... the same at a 21,000 capacity venue is beyond embarrassing and closing on humiliating.

Will I get any answers ? Not a chance in hell.

Will I probably get banned from The Bloo before too long ? Once, I would have said "of course", but even there, the natives are revolting. Brian's management made a major, major error in green-lighting this tour in those venues, and have compounded that by offering us a transparently untrue, deeply insulting explanation for the cancellation. If we're wrong, let us know: prove us wrong. I dare you.

Funny that you've hidden this post in the scummy depths of the Pee-Board, where the "natives" would never think to question you, but you're still allowed the satisfaction of smugly thinking to yourself that you've made a ballsy post questioning the actions of Brian's camp.
 
Here's the thing, and no matter how many times he posts it, anyone on this board with the slightest amount of intelligence can pick up on it: the LEGENDARY BOARD HISTORIAN is biased beyond belief, balls deep in Mike Love's camp. Fact: the actions over the years of that man are beyond stupid, and there are things that the LEGENDARY BOARD HISTORIAN knows about that the rest of this board does not - which is for the better considering the indefensible nature of the things he has done over the years.

Read that post, think about the posts he has made about Brian, and then think about the posts he (has not) made about Mike, and make up your own mind - who does this guy really stand for, and WHY?

For every article and thread of this nature, there is a board historian post like above to match, some insulting, some apologetic, but all of them essentially repeats of similar comments made previously, just like the article in question. Mike Love has always made disparaging comments publicly about Brian:

and you have hit the nail on the head with this post. Why, if Mike Love is sick of being portrayed as "that asshole Mike Love" (his own description to AGD) does he side with the Landy's directly after the release of a movie centred around the misery Landy caused?

It doesn't take much to deduce from your post history that you're entirely biased, regardless of how much you enjoy saying you aren't. Say it definitively for us all - are you or are you not working with Mike Love on Mike Love's book?

I'd love to hear your answer. Of course, I won't get a reply. The Kokomo method is to never answer questions directly. They skirt around the issue, talk about why they're skirting around the issue, then never answer.

I’ve seen this issue crop up a few times quite recently and I’d like to make this clear - Mike Love is not paying anyone to post on SS.
Mike Love doesn’t have any SS members on his payroll – that is a myth, started because the only logical explanation for some of the complete gobshite that is so often posted by the Vibe Room police is that they are being paid to do so.  This is not the case.

What Mike Love does have is the resident “board historian”, who has been blatantly making hamfisted attempts to rewrite history with assistance from the irrational Mr. Cruz and the rest of the card carrying Kokomaoists, all of them now screaming “libelous” from the tops of their soapboxes while pining for litigation and trying desperately to change the subject. And let’s be even more clear: no, the resident historian is not getting paid for his rewrite for the Love autobiography. Yet. And he won’t, until the Tahoe Bunker is satisfied that he has successfully convinced enough fools that the only history that counts is The Gospel according To St. Michael the Meditator, which means more and more attempts at blatant history rewrites.

And now, again, he’s back to the Redwood incident at Wally Heider’s studio. Why? It must be an important chapter in the history rewrite for the Love autobiography. Don’t be fooled - again and again they’ll be trying to sell you any shite that they think they can get away with. They’ll tell you that the only versions of this story that matter are those of actual Beach Boys who were present at Wally Heider’s, knowing that Dennis and Carl Wilson are so unfortunately long gone and cannot verify it, and therefore so conveniently gone for the historian’s attempt to modify history.  They will tell you that only Mike Love’s memory can be trusted, that Brian Wilson’s memory is faulty, conveniently ignoring the reality that Wilson says “I can't remember” only whenever he doesn’t want to talk about something. They will tell you the final word is Mr. Love’s. Anyone who is a fan of Brian and has spent even a short time listening to an interview understands that.

So, fellow residents, let me cut directly to the heart of the matter.  The playbook being used in this organized attack on the legacy of Brian Wilson by the Club Kokomo Propaganda Division is the failed November 2005 lawsuit by Love. 
Look for yourselves. It is a public document. It’s online. Research it. Read it. You will find almost verbatim the talking points that they pound into SmileySmile every day.

Randell Kirsch was fired by Mike Love a few weeks ago and replaced by Brian Eichenberger, who was poached from The Brian Wilson Band. Randell Kirsch was the bassist and falsetto singer for the Mike and Bruce show, and was fired for no reason other than Mike Love’s lunatic obsession with his cousin Brian Wilson and woe is us. We’re in a lot of trouble.  So a tall, bass playing falsetto singer was fired. What has that got to do with the price of rice, right? And why is that woe to us?

Many of us have spent much hard earned quid over the years seeing the touring band, and Randell Kirsch was a constant presence - a good vocalist, a good bass player and a better person who was popular, personable and accessible to many of us. The fact is, we are being lied to. The truth is not that Randell left for some unnamed opportunities (Papa Doo Ron Ron, anyone?), no, he was fired for no other reason other than Love, having an opportunity to stick it to his cousin yet again (and no opportunity to do so is ever wasted), even at the expense of a good musician and even better man like Randell Kirsch.  

And what happened during the interim on SmileySmile? The gang of Club Kokomo propagandists sprinted out of The Vibe Room and tried to spin it that Randell decided to waltz out of the touring BB door into the sub-tribute band world.  More attempts at a history rewrite.  Again. And now, after almost 50 years, we are supposed to believe that it was Love's concept that changed Good Vibrations from a song about dogs to a boy/girl song, completely ignoring the fact that Tony Asher had already written a set of lyrics that were specifically boy/girl, and completely ignoring the fact that Love dictated the lyrics to his wife in the car on the way to the vocal session, a story that Love himself has told ad nauseum. And to top it all off, now we are being told by Mr. Love that he was the “dominant creative force” in conceptions and lyrics in that relationship. And his propagandists now are pushing us the Good Vibrations was a Love concept, rescued by Love from becoming a song about dogs feeling vibrations! They will try and sell any shite that you will buy, as if anyone sane would buy into the circuitous drivel and pretzel logic spewed out by Mr. Cruz and his cohorts in propaganda - I don’t have to name them, you know who they are. All you have to do is be able to read the English language. They will tell you “Pisces Brothers” is seminal, they will tell you Stamos matters, they will tell you that Mike is the dominant creative force, they will tell you that Mike is the real genius behind the group, they will tell you any shite that they think you will believe, partially because the historian who won’t tell you he is indeed working on Mike’s autobiography and attempting to rewrite history for this book says it is so, and partially because they think they can get away with it. It's all about controlling information, specifically on these boards. For some here, the only truth you know is what you read right here. There is a whole generation of fans who don't know anything that doesn't come off the internet and publications like ESQ. This board is the gospel, the ultimate revelation, and is the most awesome gosh darn source in the whole godless Beach Boys world, and that's why woe is us if it ever falls into the hands of zealots, and who knows what kind of shite will be peddled for truth on this website. They will tell you exactly any shite they want you to hear, they will tell you that Mike is the genius behind the group, they will tell you that he is the dominant creative force, they will tell you it was Mike who has kept the group alive all these years, they will tell you that Good Vibrations would not have been a hit record if it weren't for Mike's lyrics and none of it is true. It’s all an illusion - none of it is true.

Put on Pet Sounds. Turn out all the lights and listen all the way through. Then play Summer in Paradise and do the same. Then tell me who was the dominant "creative" force.

Nobody did anything to stop the reunion or quit the reunion. The reunion ended and Brian, Mike and Al did nothing to keep it going.

I don’t have to tell you things have gotten bad on SmileySmile.com. Everyone knows things are bad. Everybody feels the difference in tone on the board, or they feel scared of being screamed at and piled on by the same six or eight Kokotrolls who are running wild and who come out simultaneously as they are dominating the board with their anti-BW agenda whenever there is a positive thread. We know that their rants are completely unfit in relation to reality and even more unfit to read, and yet we sit there and absorb it day in and day out, as if that’s the way it’s supposed to be. We know things are bad...they are worse than bad, they are crazy. It’s depressing. Anyone sane here wants to have decent intelligent discussions about The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson, but a small group of zealots from the state of KokoDopia have intentionally hijacked this board and continually clog up threads with a specific agenda: delegitimize anything and everything related to Brian Wilson. There is nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do about it and there's no end to it.

Now I don't know what to tell you on what to do about the Vibe Room police who patrol and troll these threads, you know who they are, I don’t have to point them out to you. Then you sit in front of your computer screens, thinking of playing with your PS4s, while some uninformed self- anointed expert rants about phantom Autotune, vocal processing and Joe Thomas as if it were all fact and the way it’s supposed to be instead of what it really is: just a cavalcade of wankers with an agenda and on a mission, who know as much about the recording process as they do about fornicating. But some of you just sit there and accept this garbage and say nothing.  It's almost as if you are asking them to just, please, let me have my iPad , my iPhone, my PS4 and my computer and I won’t say anything, just please let us have our little space to listen to and enjoy No Pier Pressure in peace and leave us alone.

Well I'm not going to leave you alone, I want you to get MAD. I don’t want you to protest about the board, I don’t want you to write to the moderators because I wouldn’t know what to tell you to write. I don’t know what to do about the "neutral" board historian who will not admit publicly he is solidly in Mike Love’s camp, who will not admit publicly he is working with Mike Love on his book, who has already tried to rewrite Beach Boys history on this board, to tailor it to this fictional alternate KokoDopian reality, who tries and has succeeded in getting members who he vehemently disagrees with banned - someone who bullies anyone who doesn't bend the knee off of the board. I don’t know what to tell you about all the lies and spin like the firing of Randell Kirsch, like the Love termination of C50, the phantom Autotune and all the other fabrications of the Vibe Room police, all I know is first YOU’VE GOT TO GET MAD. You have to say "I am a knowledgeable, serious fan, Gosh Darn it, my opinion has value." This band and it’s creative force Brian Wilson have meaning. The legacy of the greatest band in American history should not be cheerleaders, Stamos, Pisces Brothers and wheeennnnnn.
One original member and a replacement of an original member do not constitute The Beach Boys.

So: I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs.  I want you to get up right now, grab your copy of Summer in Paradise, and go to the window, open it, throw it out, then stick your head out, and yell  "I’M AS MAD AS HELL AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE."  I want you to get up right now, get up, go to your windows, open them, stick your head out, toss out your copy of Summer in Paradise and yell "I’M AS MAD AS HELL AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE." Then we’ll figure out what to do about the Vibe Room Cops and the spin control and the former neutral board historian trying to rewrite Beach Boys history.
