I think I'm allergic to Looking Back With Love.
Everytime I've played it I get sick!

Never understood the relation of "Pipeline" to the original.
Produced by Gary Usher!
Had to have a Sagittarius "Present Tense" Lp after listening.

The only 70's version of "Surf's Up" without the background noise at the end.
Even the 1st "remastered" Caribou CD had the background stuff. I wrote Caribou
a nasty note and complained about the CD price and took it back (what an idiot!).

Have to admit. My favorite.
True zen rock.
Need more.
Wore out several copies.
Then again, I'm strange.

Yeah Huh Tongue Undecided
Nelson, what were you thinking?
Has anyone heard "In My Room" with Tammy Winnette?
Heard it was on a compilation of hers. She would not allow it on
Stars and Stripes. A small clip heard on the DVD. Please don't reply about me owning the DVD.. Embarrassed
I was a gift?.. Grin
Still waiting for vol. 2! Wink

...Where it all begins.
Raw, and very young.
Wouldn't it been great to be around at the time?
Yeah!!

Truthfully, I found my copy in a bargan bin for 99 cents..
I freaked when "Surf's Up" played.
This spurred me to re-check The Beach Boys catalog.
Afterwards I was hooked and have never found better.
"Disney Girls" was intended for Bruce's solo Lp.
Art Garfunkel did a better job (with Bruce on piano/vocals).

"Baby Blue" is worth the price of the Lp..
Sad that Dennis's 2nd Lp was not issued.
Maybe someday?

Not really an album. A compilation of soundtrack and singles.
The last Beach Boys Capitol release? Sort of...
A completest must have. Casual Beach Boys fan?, nah..
Out of print...

11  Smiley Smile Stuff / Brian Wilson Solo Albums / Re: Brian Wilson Presents SMiLE (BW solo) on: December 25, 2005, 04:23:42 PM
Still reelling...
I used to give away copies of "Pet Sounds" to audience members (those that asked me questions like;"how do you..".
Now I have to give away both "SMiLE" and "Pet Sounds"...
Most do not realize this is the decisive and crucial cross pollination of popular music.
Turning from dance music to an art form.
A true watershed event.
SMiLE would not have been understood in '67.
Most do not understand it now.
Thank God for Brian Wilson.

When this LP arrived at my record store in 1979 it was played till the grooves were gone.
It also chased my customers away until The Knack Lp (don't figure...).
To this day even my Beach Boy buddies think I'm nuts..
Great record!

14  Smiley Smile Stuff / 1990's Beach Boys Albums / Re: Summer In Paradise on: December 25, 2005, 04:09:06 PM
Hmm, this disc is really not a "Beach Boy" recording.
More of a Bruce, Mike and John album.
I must admit John Stamos imitates the boys very well.
"Something Happens" is the best tracks (way to go Al!).
Otherwise it is a bookmark of the end in the library of the Beach Boys catalog.
Strange it fetches $100. + at auctions.
Should have grabbed it a 89 cents in the bargan bids.

15  Smiley Smile Stuff / Brian Wilson Solo Albums / Re: What I Really Want From Christmas (BW solo) on: December 25, 2005, 04:04:24 PM
My hat is off to Brian and the band.
Auld Lang Syne alone is worth the price of admission.
The band pulls off vocals the original boys could never.
Even the Freshmen themselves would/should be jelous.

16  Smiley Smile Stuff / 1960's Beach Boys Albums / Re: The Beach Boys' Christmas Album on: December 25, 2005, 04:02:12 PM
Christmas doesn't start until I play the mono VINYL version.
The snap crackle and pops are an audio switch that takes me back to
old Christmas.
The best!

I'd be glad to burn a copy (for the price of postage in the US!).
I have both recordings.
e-mail me...
