Did someone say Coda?

I've said it once, and I'll say it until I die: "Kiss Me, Baby". Enough said.

If Kiss Me, Baby is in the set, I will shed tears.

Is it true that they actually filmed all of Lei'd In Hawaii? If so, that would be a cool release.

Beach Boys & Girls.

Wilsonians?
6  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: What were the Beach Boys doing the day you were born? on: November 18, 2015, 02:20:24 PM
I was born on July 9th, 1998. Around that time, Imagination had just been released, and Endless Harmony would be released around a month later.

Soulful Old Man Sunshine, Mama Says, and Let the Wind Blow.
Yeah, you know? People diss Let the Wind Blow all the time and I like it!

People diss LTWB? It's one of the most beautiful things - musically and lyrically - that I've ever heard. The version on the live album is unreal.

I can't think of a single song that should get the title of most underrated. The crappiest BB songs are still better than the vast majority of other pop music. But in the spirit of the thread, I'll throw out this underrated gem: Our Car Club. The key changes and the harmonies that they bust out in the second verse!

An American Family got me hooked on LTWB. The version with just the vocals, a piano, and the backing harmonies from the film are astounding.

Thank you guys! I appreciate it so much! Now, if I can just find a place that has Hi def photos.. I'm pretty sure someone posted a link a while back for hi def photos of album covers.

Personally, I think An Anerican Family would be dope as a musical.

Yeah! The Sloop photo cover! I know there's more. I think that "Best wishes - the Beach Boys" lithograph is from the same sessions.
12  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Finding Beach Boys Photos? on: October 26, 2015, 03:23:28 PM
I've looked around everywhere, but no dice. I'm looking for the photos taken in '66/'67 of the boys in stripe shirts WITH Brian. I know there are some photos of the 5 on the couch, with Brian slouching. As well as a photo of Brian looking out from a door while Dennis is slouched wearing a large hat. If anyone can tell me when, where, and who took the photos, it would be appreciated. And if someone could point out where to find high quality versions of these pictures, It would be awesome. As I would like to have them framed.

Who knows, maybe this can become a new thread for those trying to find specific BB photos.

14  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Beach Boys themed Halloween costumes. on: October 07, 2015, 01:13:24 PM
As it's finally that time of year, let's hear your best ideas for BB related costumes. I'll start.

The "Andrew G. Doe" costume: includes fake white beard, long wig, and includes a copy of "Brian Wilson & The Beach Boys - The Complete Guide To Their Music."
15  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Thread for various insignificant questions that don't deserve their own thread! on: October 01, 2015, 12:51:15 PM
I'm reposting because my question probably won't get answered because of the Good Vibes discussion, but I've always liked those photos from '66 with the BB (with Brian) in the striped shirts. I know one includes the guys sitting on the couch, with Brian slouched. I'm sure there are more photos from these photo sessions. Does anyone know who took them and when were they taken?

17  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Albums you would change the titles to.. on: September 02, 2015, 06:08:15 PM
I'm sure of the ones I would change, but don't have many creative ideas as to what I would change them to, so I'll mostly use song titles:

Surf's Up to Long Promised Road, I also like Landlocked due to the theme of the album

Carl & The Passions - So Tough to Make It Good or Cuddle Up

15 Big Ones to It's OK! (gotta use the exclamation point!)

M.I.U. to Our Team (with an album cover featuring prominently the 5 Beach Boys surrounded by spouses, girlfriends, children, supporting musicians, parents, whoever - kind of a Sunflower album cover meets the infamous 1966(?) airport photo)

L.A. Light Album to anything, maybe Baby Blue or Angel Come Home, possibly Good Timin'

Keepin' The Summer Alive to Endless Harmony or Goin' On

Beach Boys 1985 to Getcha Back, California Callin', It's Getting Late, or It's Just A Matter Of Time

That's Why God Made The Radio to Isn't It Time, maybe Summer's Gone but that might be too ominous

Pacific Ocean Blue to Dennis Wilson

Gettin' In Over My Head to Soul Searchin'
So, refresh me on what the airport '66 photo looked like?
18  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Is Brian Wilson actually left-handed? on: August 06, 2015, 11:00:37 AM
I'm a lefty. I threw lefty, but batted righty. I write lefty, and when I started to learn the play the guitar, my teachers gave up on me because they were right and I was lefty. So, I play any stringed instruments righty. When I drum, I play a right handed kit, but I pretty much play like Ringo does.

Do we have or know of any recorded video or audio of the BB in concert with Brian in the 90's?

How about the plane seat Brian was sitting in when he had his famous breakdown?
21  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Settling the "Getcha Back" debate on: July 30, 2015, 12:45:33 PM
It's been 30 years since BB85 was released, and for 30 years, it has been debate whether Jeff or Brian sang the falsetto. However, I think we might finally have an answer. Here is a full recording  of the Beach Boys on 6/27/85. What is so sweet coal about his concert? Getcha Back is played for the first time live. I'm not sure if other people have heard this, but Jeff takes the falsetto live, and it definitely sounds different than the one on the record. The live recording and album recording were taken within a year, and I highly doubt that Jeff's voice would be strained on the record, but clear live. I think that this proves Brian Wilson is the one who sang the falsetto.

22  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: VINYL RE-ISSUES QUESTION on: July 27, 2015, 11:26:00 AM
This may have been discussed before, but has anyone else noticed on the bottom back cover of 20/20, it says "Originally released in 1964"?

This question is for guitarists, in WIBN the fast mandolin strumming sound during the "You know it seems the more.." Part is an accordion, with the violin reed option turned on. In concert, they always a 12 string to play this part, here is a most recent show. Could someone help me out with the tabs at this part?

An American Family was my definitely my favorite film. And I know I'm pretty much alone on that ship.
