haha, yes.  i know it's kind of weird, but i love these replications.  really, i don't think it's any more or less valid than any other kind of vintage replica t-shirt, we're just choosing our own (obscure) reference and producing it on-demand rather than buying it from a big retail store.
all of these shirts look like they were made-to-order by the beach boys as inside jokes or something - I wonder what they even meant at the time...  has anybody asked those who were around?

Just found this!
http://shop.spreadshirt.com/dfbm/brian+wilson+-+delicious+shirt-A102816098?department=1&productType=210&color=B9B87F&appearance=16&view=1

looks a little more like the original compared to the RedBubble one, I think.

Not exclusively bossa nova, but it's worth reading this thread of you haven't:  http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,17941.0.html

Also a little discussion on this thread about the Sinatra-Jobim collaborations you mentioned: http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,17691.msg462060.html#msg462060

For anyone confused by Brian talking about Bach and Ode to Joy and California Girls, here's a clip that should clear things up.

https://youtu.be/_m1va4JjgfY?t=9m47s

Obviously, Ode to Joy has nothing to do with California Girls, or Bach for that matter...  California Girls was inspired by a different "Joy" composition actually by Bach - "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" (yes, the same one that Lady Lynda lifted from - good for them to get two songs from the same source material).  It makes more sense when you can see/hear him explain it.

A lot of good advice so far. I enjoy your music as well and have caught myself humming your tunes before (It's You is one example).  And I think you're on to something with the incorporation of 8 bit video game sounds.
I understand where you are coming from with the vocal issues. My lead singing has been a limiting factor in my own music. Have you tried consulting with a good professional vocal coach for at least a couple sessions? If you are particularly attached to a complete DIY setup and want to sing your own leads (I understand that too), I think sharpening up your intonation and opening up a relaxed tone will add a lot to your music.  In my opinion, a solid and expressive lead vocal track is the most important layer of the recording and has the power to make or break an otherwise great song.

A decent read...I'd really like to know which Bach piece has a Beach Boys shuffle........  LOL

Ode To Joy, apparently.

There's at least one other interview on YouTube where Brian brought this up (don't remember where... Maybe Q TV or Strombo or something?). He definitely spoke the wrong title here, but the example he sings for interviews is "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring".

Wow! Great new experience of Vega-Tables and insight into your technique.  I was especially excited when I saw that it would be a spatialized mix of the extended version - I definitely share your enthusiasm for this recording!  Thank you as well to Professor Conner for stepping in to assist.
