I hated The Wall the first few times I listened to it - that's an album that really has to grow on you. But it is a great piece of work.

Atom Heart Mother (the song) is too long, but it has a few "oh my god" moments, like when the orchestra really gets going near the beginning, or when it all folds in to just Rick Wright's synth and Roger's bass. I heard some story about them recording the backing track all the way through in one go....must have been tough.

I really like the title track but I do think they repeated the main theme too many times and they shouldn't have included a reprise of Breast Milky.

My favourite song on the album is Summer '68. Again, really underrated.

Wall fans should really check out the ITAOT live album. It easily surpasses the studio version of the Wall!

I really want to get that but it's out of print. I'm gonna look for it at the next record fair in bendigo. Or I'll just get The Wall Immersion box set

I bought Atom Heart Mother and Obscured By Clouds today. 2 really underrated albums. I was going to get Meddle but freaking JB Hi-fi didn't have it!

a shop that still survives selling vinyl (and cd's)..... who are a dying breed unfortunately.....

JB Hi-fi (which is an Australian cd, dvd, game, tv, phone, camera, etc. store) still sells vinyl. All JBs I've been to have vinyl stands. I haven't seen any Beach boys  vinyl although I haven't looked hard. I've seen lots of Beatles vinyl though.

Interesting, and you're right that there's a lot of Vinyl being sold at JB. But I have occasionally seen Pet Sounds, SMiLE and once a Surfin' Safari 50th Anniversary EP (which I got). And in the JB in the city, I've found the Surfin' Safari album (with bonus disc of other BB's songs from that era), and That's Why God Made The Radio. There's most likely a few more there, but I've forgotten lol.

I found Pet Sounds at my local JB Hi-Fi (because they finally organized the vinyl stands in alphabetical order!) but I didn't buy it because it was $38. I've seen it online for $28. JB's vinyl prices are too high, they put the Beatles vinyls up to $40 each!

I know Bruce sings on In The Flesh, In The Flesh?, The Show Must Go On and Waiting for the worms. The Beach Boys were going to do the backing vocals themselves but cancelled on the morning of the session.

Then why are you guys voting for California Girls?
