My favorite, too.  Amazing song.

You Still Believe in Me

I was feeling bad about voting for the song, but now I'm kind of mad at it.

Hmm.  If I'm picking from my least favorite remaining tracks it would have to be between You Still Believe in Me and Don't Talk.

I'm going with Don't Talk this time.

I shouldn't like "Don't Talk" because I'm generally not into slow songs at all, but that one is just so hypnotic. It can't go yet.

Gonna have to go with You Still Believe in Me.

My daughter likes Sloop John B too much to vote that one out yet.

You Still Believe in Me.

I like it, but when I'm in a hurry in the car it tends to be one of the tracks I skip.  Sorry.

Let's Go Away for a While

May as well finish this one off, as sad as it may be.

I had heard that they put out a lot more sophisticated music than what we experience via cultural osmosis, but I was too cheap to ever buy any CDs to actually listen for myself.  Finally after reading about Pet Sounds and SMiLE for years, and signing up for a Spotify account I dug in.  I wish I had started years ago.

So, it was more of a technical issue with Brian's ability to hit the notes?  Okay, thanks.  That makes more sense.

I'd be shocked (in a good way) if they play Surf's Up.  Brian hasn't played it since the Smile tour.

Yes, what is the reason behind this?  I read somewhere that it still brings up bad memories.  Is that true as far as we know?  It's a shame if that's so.
14  Smiley Smile Stuff / Welcome to the Smiley Smile board / Hello . . . from Illinois on: July 23, 2013, 03:08:42 AM
Hi, everyone.  I've been lurking for a few months, but have finally decided to officially join the board, because my wife and I are going to the BAD show at Ravinia this Friday and it just seems like the right thing to do!  I'm 41, have obviously been aware of the Beach Boys my entire life, but unfortunately never took them seriously until last year.  For years, though, I've known that some of my favorite bands were admirers of the BBs--like the Beatles and Apples in Stereo, but I was always too cheap and lazy to actually go out and pick up a copy of Pet Sounds to see what all the fuss was about.  Finally, with the releases of the Smile Sessions and then TWGMTR and my joining Spotify, I could indulge my curiosity and listen to album after album!  I wish I had done this a long time ago.  Now, I have to buy the actual discs!

My 8 year-old daughter absolutely loves "Heroes and Villains" and, really the whole SMiLE album--the 2004 version mostly.  I'm still transfixed by Pet Sounds, mostly.  And, I've actually never hated "Kokomo," either.  Though I remember when it was brand-new and I was riding with my friend to High School. I thought, "Kokomo is in Indiana.  Whoever wrote this is dumb."

Anyhow, I still have a lot to learn, but I'm learning it here.  So, thanks!
