Kia ora from NZ
been doing some shopping on ebay and found a seller who is offering:
the complete contents of the meet and greet package for the Beach Boys show at the Westchester County Center on Tuesday May 15th. The best item is a color 8x10 photograph that has been hand signed by all five Beach Boys: Brian Wilson , Mike Love , Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks !!!!!! David Marks signed the photo two times. I am also giving you all the other suff that came with the VIP package: The 2012 Tour Program, a double sided size Large T-shirt and a very cool Surf Board keychain all in the blue gift bag it came in. I will also include the flyer that was used to advertise the VIP package which tells you what you get in the package and the orange wristband with the name of the venue and VIP on it that got you into the meet & greet. The Beach Boys will not autograph anything for the live nation VIP packages so this might be your only chance to get an item signed by all of the Beach Boys from their 50th anniversary tour !!!!!!.
The photo is one of the recent photos of the band huddled around a seated Brian at the piano in the studio with the Beach Boys 50 logo on lower r/h side. Each band member has signed across the middle of their image, but above David's head he has apparently signed a second time, bu its hard to see as black marker pen on dark background.
I didn't think the Live Nation VIP packages were offering signed photos (only the chance of a personal photo with the band), not did Live Nation website indicate a keyring with the t-shirt & bag.
Looking at other ebay listings and I found a different seller offering an identical photo from the same May 15 Westchester meet & greet, also signed twice in a similar fashion by David Marks.
I queried the seller who stated
At the meet & greet the Beach Boys did not sign there but they did hand out to the 50 people an autographed photo. I asked their tour manager why David Marks signed it twice and he told me that Marks originally signed them in the dark area above his head and then they realized that his signature was not very visable so he had him sign them all again. The tour manager also guaranteed me that he himself got all of the photos signed so I can be sure that they are authentic
Great story, but even though seller is offering 'proof'of attendance such as the VIP experience wristband and other paraphanalia, I'm inclined to think the signatures are fake. But just wanted to check and see if any one else who has attended a VIP Experience can verify contents of gift bag, or who as even come away with a signed photo, or can verify that signed photos are being provided to some attendees. Thanks.
