Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Jeffrey Foskett and the future of the Beach Boys touring franchise

My guess, as long as there is an "original" member (I would include any of the C50 guys), there is a chance the Beach Boys name is used on tour. Once those members are retired or deceased, we will see tribute bands, many consisting of family members, touring band members, etc. I could see a scenario where the Beach Boys name is used in the title, kind of like what Al was doing before Mike squashed that.
The Four Freshman have been mentioned a few times, but are there any other bands that have no original members that are still touring?

I sent my discs back to amazon and am waiting for another set. I finally noticed disc three looked like someone had raked it across gravel.
I'm sending mine back to them too.. disc one skips then stops on track 12 of disc one.. my corners of the book were creased (in shipment?.. packing box looked like it went thru a war).. inside where the CD's are stored has a big scratch in the cardboard as if someone's nail gouged it when the CD's were inserted...

Ian and Jon,
Thoroughly enjoying looking through your book. Today I took my list of 35 shows I attended from 1967-1997 and had a great time locating them in the book. It brought back alot of good memories. And yes... all 35 were documented in the book. You guys did a really nice job, and it is certainly a great reference/collectable to have on the book shelf...
Best regards,
CJ

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Pre-show tunes help

Saw a thread on this awhile back. At Darien Lake in Western NY on Friday and enjoyed the pre/post show music..
Eric Carmen, Bruce and Terry, Four Freshman, Summer Means New Love as exit music AND.. and one tune I could not place but I've heard it before.
A harmony song with slow verses and a chorus that sounded something like "standing in that line".... any guesses as to what that was?

Who the hell is Rick Flair?
Sounds like things have not changed over the years. I have been in close proximity to ML several times. The ONLY time he was cordial was when we were in a VIP tent before a concert for those who donated to the Love Foundation, or whatever it was called. He was smiling, talked to my wife, accepted a 2-shot picture from 1968 of Mike and myself. HOWEVER, beware if you catch him by surprise after a show or in an instance such as you described. He DOES NOT LIKE drive-by greetings from anyone but the ladies. And then only after careful scrutiny.
I had the exact same experience as you did with Mike Love in 1990.
