I honestly can't believe some of the negative views on TWGMTR , i think it's absolutely superb and i wasn't expecting much at all , it surprised me big time. Could do without Beaches In Mind but big deal. Bill and Sue has a terrible main lyric but the chorus is classic BB's. There's a few real gems ,especially at the end of course ,and most of the rest would be standouts on any BB's album from the mid-70's onwards.
I really think it's a great album , then again i haven't tried speeding any of it up by a 6th yet so maybe i could make it better.

I played Disc 3 before reading this thread and didn't notice a thing !` it's definitely there though , i can hear a tiny bit of Murray The K before Do It Agaim. Really not a problem whatsoever for me but i wouldn't criticise anyone who's annoyed , paid a lot for it. It doesn't affect the music in any major way though.

And now for the OFFICIAL tracklisting: 1. Do It Again 2. Catch A Wave 3. Hawaii 4. Marcella 5. Isn't It Time 6. Little Deuce Coupe 7. 409 8. Shut Down 9. I Get Around 10. Heroes And Villians 11. Sloop John B 12. Wouldn't It Be Nice 13. All This Is That 14. That's Why God Made The Radio 15. Sail On Sailor 16. Good Vibrations 17. California Girls 18. Help Me Rhonda 19. Rock And Roll Music 20. Kokomo 21. Fun Fun Fun http://www.walmart.com/ip/22001294?adid=Sorry, guys, to me this is a very disappointing tracklist. No Dance Dance Dance, one of my all time favorites, instead we get some of my all time bores like Marcella, Rock And Roll Music, and All This Is That. Not to speak of Kokomo. Sail On Sailor isn't one of my favorites either, but I liked it much better live than the studio version. I'd have preferred Add Some Music, Please Let Me Wonder, and Be True To Your School (Wheeeeeeeeen...) Yeah, but NO Barbara-freakin'-Ann, lets be thankful for small mercies! No way ! Did you not see it on the Jools Holland show, most excellent . Even 'youngsters" at my work who tuned in for Muse and The XX were saying how much they enjoyed it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogn79KaLe5k

If we really must discuss other bands on this thread, and lets face it there's nothing to discuss re: the box set so why not !, then we should make it someone decent, i mean, c'mon.Oasis ? really ?
Anyone heard "Found A Little baby" by Plush ? Now THAT'S quality !

My cash is short and Christmas is coming so i'll be waiting on the Smiley Smile verdict before buying this. The trailer sounds terrible., Mike especially on Fun Fun Fun , vocals tampered with to disastrous effect. Not hopeful.
The YouTube video from the first row at Albert Hall is much better, real and atmospheric !

This is awesome, I never win anything!
And judging by the "prize" you're getting, it's safe to say you still haven't won anything. I take it's not that good then? That would be okay, as long as I'm not paying for it, it's no loss. But I love the Pet Sounds Live and Smile DVDs so I don't know. Nonsense, it's a cool tour documentary. It's bloody brilliant, i love it. However, you should be ASHAMED that you don't already own it !

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Bottom 5 Beach Boys albums

I love even most of their so-called crummy albums (especially Party and 15BO). So this is hard to pinpoint but I can definitely throw these down:
1. Stars and Stripes (shudder) 2. Summer in Paradise (okay I haven't heard this, I'm just assuming I would rate it low based on general consensus. Meanwhile I am keeping my eye out for a copy to buy.).3. Beach Boys '85 (don't mind the dated production, just think too many of the songs are dull) 4. Still Cruisin' (not enough new songs, plus meh productions. Love the Fat Boys song though!) 5. Surfin' Safari (too many novelty type songs, but obviously has some amazing songs too)
It is pretty bad, but I don't think it's right to rank an album you haven't heard. Correct, which is why i'm staying out of this one ! I dont own the early ones (first 4/5) or anything from late 70's onwards (except the new one). I'm content with the tracks from those on the GV box set.

1/ Surf's Up 2/ Pet Sounds 3/ Friends 4/ Sunflower 5/ That's Why God Made The Radio
Just behind them : 20/20 and Love You.
Not trying to be controversial with #5 , i really think it's brilliant and i'm still playing it a lot. Every track on it (even the worst, Beaches In Mind) would fit on any other album and not be out of place. And Daybreak Over The Ocean plus the final 3 tracks are to die for, amazing.
