Booklet, tracklisting for Disc Three: anyone know where the photo of the boys was taken? Given the limestone pavement they're stood on and the nature of the walls in the valley so deep and wide behind them, I'm guessing it just might have been the Yorkshire Dales during a UK visit but who knows? Anyone? Edit: found it on line but no further details: Edit: this is almost certainly from the same day: I'd always believed the 'arches' pic to be in the ruins of the old Coventry cathedral, with the modern 'Chapel of Unity' in the background. The open views in the other pictures don't look much like the Midlands, so I guess that might account for Bruce's moustache conundrum! AGD's Bellagio 10452 shows a concert in Glasgow (Nov/Dec 1970) the day after one in Birmingham, and then several in Stockton-On-Tees and Sheffield, so apart from Al changing his jeans, looks like they might well have worn the same clothes for two days!

After following the discussion about The Four Seasons' The Genuine Imitation Life Gazette/ The Zombies Odessey and Oracle on the 'Where is that %^&$@#&* MIC Box Set @#$%^&*(!!!' thread, I've been dipping back into Horslips' 'Happy to Meet...Sorry to Part' which has quite close echoes of both IMO. A lot of it is of its time, but if you like The Zombies mixed with Celtic rock there's a lot that sounds familiar....!

Nah, that's a different Carl Wilson. Man, did you see what that Carl Wilson "Long Promised Road" CD is going for on that website? Was just amazed that something did exist with the title from your earlier post and that not only was the title spookily prescient (being pre TWGMTR)) but was recorded by a 'Carl Wilson' - who, had I actually been in any doubt, was clearly a very 'different' Carl! But then there's also a track called 'Darlin'' on the album and that's a different Darlin'. An alternative universe?

Heh. I really didn't mean for all of this. Anyway, I'm not a moron and not incapable of using the search function - and before I posted, I did try. Also, I'm not here posting new threads every day about common knowledge - cut me just a liiiiiitle bit of slack!
Like one other poster, I couldn't find concrete evidence that this recording was the same thing as what Brian posted on FB. Of course, after I post the thread and get scolded by the expert, the third or fourth phrase match got me the KFWB thread.
I still think it's interesting in light of "Brian's" recent Facebook post, and the fact that I haven't seen it discussed here in my 1000+ posts time, means maybe it's worth an updated look?
Love and Mercy. You are right, it is, thanks. You need a hide like a rhinoceros on this board...! I admit when I first saw your post I thought it was going to be one of the much crueller Brian/Paul spoof phone conversations doing the rounds on Youtube

AGD's right. Why the stupid ? It's old news. Was discussed here before and it's on YouTube. Do a search. Disagree. I've never heard the clip and a board search of Brian + Beatles + phone, or Brian + John + Phone turns up nothing on the first page. Don't know about most of you guys but I'm not willing to trawl through hundreds of archived threads just to make sure I don't put AGD's nose out of joint. And yet I searched John Lennon Brian phone and got one page and this : http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,9297.0.html from 2010..... I am in pedant hell. Meh I don't know, you can come to like it......

When Carnie says she has the same piano playing style as her father, she ain't kidding. Back in 1986 I watched her play (on the sandbox piano) at Marilyn's house, and it was eerie/scary: same 'stance', same tilt of the head, same sideways look. Not like Brian - it was Brian.
Blimey It's gone very quiet

Your two videos were truly a revelation, thank you. I can't pretend to have any knowledge at all of how music is transferred from soul to tape, but that's what's happening here, it really is an education. As a fan who obsesses about 'lost' this and that, it's like all your nightmares come at once to know perhaps an even 'better' 'Til I Die once existed!! How is that possible?! A fascinating story though, huge thanks once again.

I don't think most unrepentant Mike supporters WANT the Mike/Bruce show to come to their town! You don't have to hate Mike with a passion in order to scratch your head at his seeming determination to keep the economy class "Beach Boys" rolling......
In fact no one HAS to hate Mike with a passion either..... It's so easy to just love the Beach Boys warts n all.
Erik - "unrepentant" would be me in the late 60's and 70's when they fell out of popular favor. A Beach Boys fan. And, I'm greedy; I'll go see them all. It is not economy class. Bigger is not necessarily better. They need to find their formula tha works. Pun intended. Keep finding myself agreeing with your posts - a little cool-headed appreciation of the music in a morass of mud-slinging!

I'm probably gonna go to that one in New Jersey, but I don't think I'll buy a ticket until like February.
I don't agree with the sentiment "if it's not all of them, there's no point". Never stopped anyone from seeing Brian solo. Hell, I'd see Foskett solo singing Beach Boys songs if he was in the area. Why not?
That's the thinking! And it'll keep it alive for all the new 'converts' from BB50, who've got a lot to catch up on...
