I don't know if this has any truth to It but I read somewhere that It wasn't actually Brians birthday, they were celebrating Brians birthday every night of the tour with a birthday cake. I don't know which tour or from what year but everyone, especially Brian, looks very handsome In the photo.

I'm a radiohead obsessive, they were the band that turned me on to music, they also come from my hometown which Is cool, because I swear I can hear the landscapes I see around me here In their music.
The thing you wrote about No suprises having a sample of wouldn't It be nice In It Is bullsh*t, where do you get your information from?
I hope you enjoy their music anyway, my favourite album of theirs Is KID A, how to disappear completely Is beautiful beyond words, have you heard that song yet?
Thom Yorke said it in a interview on some london late night show. "No Surprises", one of the album's most melodic tracks, is layered with electric guitar inspired by the Beach Boys "Wouldn't It Be Nice"acoustic guitar, glockenspiel and vocal harmonies. - Info about "Ok Computer" and yes i i heard that whole album and song. what is your top 10 songs by them? Sorry for calling bullshit so quickly man, I hadn't heard that interview before, I was a little confused regarding the word sample, as they didn't directly extract a part from 'wouldn't It be nice' which Is what I understand sampling to mean. Very Interesting link of two great songs though, I can definitley hear the influence. Top ten! This will be the hardest list I'll ever compile (not ordered) How to disappear completely My Iron lung morning bell dollars and cents The tourist street spirit thinking about you Reckoner In limbo fake plastic trees Yours?

ur f*cking with me right? lol u cnt be serious lol Please listen to rubys arms/ christmas card from a hooker/ take me home/waltzing matilda. These songs make me cry, THAT for me defines a good singer, somebody that sings with a heart and truthfullness behind the voice...Just like Daniel Johnston or Joanna Newsom etc. Tom Waits Is always In tune, he sounds gruff and worn out but that's the magic of It. He sings about having his heart broken, about drowning his sorrows at bars, begging to be stabbed.. If his voice was sweet and unaffected the songs would still be beautiful, but I'd have a harder time believing the things he Is singing about. His songs can be a lullaby or a knife In the heart. I like Nick Drake and Judee Sill the best I think. Nick's Drake http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP3eHMWFEkM Judee Sill.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PP8DjFhxy60&feature=related

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: looking for bass tablatures

There aren't many on here http://www.surfermoon.com/tabs.shtml , but If you scroll down to the section entitled individual songs there are a few tabs that include the bass parts (fire, california girls, can't wait too long, child is the father of the man, god only knows..probably more but I can't be bothered to check every tab for bass parts), I can't be sure whether the tabs are right because I don't play bass, but the tabs on this website are generally quite accurate when I work songs out on my keyboard from there. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: What is their strongest post-Pet Sounds album? (1967-1977)

Friends! Great production and songs, the mellow, laid back feel continues throughout making It just as cohesive as pet sounds. The only song I skip Is transcendental meditation but thats at the end of the album so It doesn't really kill the flow. I don't understand the love for sunflower, maybe I haven't listened enough yet, It's a little too sugary sweet for me, and I'm not a huge fan of Bruce Johnstons songs.

I think the beach boys version Is on par with Mansons original. He had a great voice and there's some cool electric guitar on his version. I have to admit though, I was listening to never learn not to love In the dark last night and the rumbling In the Intro creeped me out so much I had to turn the light back on. Both great versions, but entirely different..almost beyond comparison for that reason.
As for the fact that It was Charles Mansons song....It's just music and I don't care who's making It, unless the lyrics are designed to subliminally influence you or something.
