Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Cool Article on Where Within the San Diego Zoo the Pet Sounds cover was taken

...
When I first saw the cover of Pet Sounds in 1966 there is no way I would have guessed that 12 years later Brian Wilson would go missing and finally be found under a tree in Balboa Park, less than a mile walk from the entrance to the Zoo, (and even closer to the Children's Zoo, as the crow flies), looking like a homeless bum, dirty, passed out, and nearly comatose, with no wallet, money, or ID.
Really? Is it just a coincidence or could there be a reason for that? So many potential theories...

This is amazing, thank you Howie!
I'm very glad you're also a Love You fan and its a thrill to see you asked Brian what he recalled from the album.
I have a question for you: In this interview (or previous ) did you ever felt Brian was nostalgic about Love You? In wikipedia there's a quote from Earle Mankey about Brian saying he was searching for the same 'fire' from his younger days when recording Love You.
I just think that's a very powerful statement, making Love You very personal and full of sonic melancholy. What do you think?

I've added the Montreal date to the top post. Interesting that they're still filling in dates on the schedule.
K so tickets are now on sale for Brian at Montreal Jazz Festival 2016. I just got mine He's playing Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier in Place-des-Arts complex, which is the centerpoint of Jazz fest. Its a very cool theather, where the OSM (Symphonic Orchestra from Montreal) plays classical concerts. So its also very prestigious. I saw him there back in 2010 for the Gershwin show, sound was great. So this is going to be my 4th year in a row catching Brian playing live (including the 2013 reunion show). Hope he continues to play for many, many more.

Ontor, Bean? Where are you??? Lets give this thread some Love again (pun intended) When Mike Love gives this signal while wearing his scrambled egg hat, watch out! Confused during a recent encore, Mike Love launches into an excerpt from "The Vagina Monologues" Mike Love proudly casts his ballot for The Beach Boys over The Beatles. Uh, it was a write-in.

With the current pointless trend of hate threads, thought we should lighten the mood a bit and have this one come back up in the list. Ontor's first photo foresees it all...amazing! "OK, show of hands... who here hates me? Ok, who here hates me but is able to deal with the dichotomy and appreciate my bass vocals?"I prefer looking back to BBs history with humor and not with hate. Mock the devil of unfair, over-responsibility of all things BBs gone wrong to this guy, and hate shall flee from thee! Mike is as integral to the band I love as Brian, Alan, Carl and Dennis...no way around it...and they all made very stupid mistakes at some point. But hey, we're all humans, right? Now, Bean, getting back to the FaRTS album...
