That would explain it.  I haven't fully taken the vinyl out of the sleeves, just enough to peek at the awesome green color.  Thanks, I'll have to look again.

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing regarding the digital download code?  I bought my copy a few days ago and I have no information inside the packaging showing how to redeem the digital download.  Did I miss it in the liner notes somewhere?

Thanks!

This is from the 28th show at UB in Buffalo NY.  At the 15 second mark is me and my wife walking in to the show.  Pretty funny.  We saw that girl walking around inside too before the show.

Great show, as always.  One thing that slightly bugged me was the way that Brian seems to be phrasing words, and ad-libbing.  Someone else here mentioned it already, but I got the feeling he was a little bored.  Now mind you, that was hardly an issue for me.  I'd go see Brian read the phone book if he toured like that Smiley

Cool interview with Matt Jardine from, I presume, yesterday?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGGXI-OGkKY

What a freaking easy going, cool guy. I'm so glad he's the guy filling that role in Brian's band. I sincerely hope this is the guy that can fill that role in Brian's band for the remainder of Brian's career.

Would definitely love to see (and hear) a long interview with him; between his years in the BB organization, plus Al's band, and now Brian's, there have to be a ton of cool stories. He's shared a few over the years about Carl and whatnot.

Anyone seen this yet?  The Bottom Line show from 1981 is coming officially it appears.  Apologies if someone beat me to it... I didn't see it posted anywhere yet.

Thank you for all of your kind words regarding my career change. I am very much looking forward to touring with The Beach Boys. It’s where I started my professional career and it feels like a “homecoming” for me. It’s going to be a blast performing with Michael, Bruce, Scott, Timmy, Randelle and Cowsey. I am very grateful to Brian for his years of friendship, music, support and teaching. We’re still great friends and I’m sure Matt will be a stellar addition to his band. As for me … No Drama, No Hard Feelings, No Weirdness … simply time for a change. I look forward to seeing you out on the road this year!

I love it!  It's completely new to my ears.  Am I the only one who thinks this wouldn't have sounded too out of place on Pet Sounds?

I too was refunded.  I asked why the project was cancelled, and got this response:

Hi Michael,

Due to new licensing rights issues the project has been cancelled. This does not rule out the possibility of a future project roll out.

Stay tuned for a future post regarding the cancellation.

Best,

I've posted some pictures and video from the Golden Nugget show this past Saturday.

I'm not sure if this is the place or the other thread, but I posted in the other one so I'll link to it here:

Long time lurker, rare poster here.  I wanted to share some pics and video from the Atlantic City show Saturday night.   GREAT show!  Mike Love was not missed and I truly mean that.  The band sounded incredible.  Brian was Brian.  Although when he warmed up a little he sounded really good.  I caught him looking at his watch several times during the 2nd set and noticed that he started missing lyrics more as the time went on.  He nearly ran off the stage when it ended, but I noticed he's walking around much better than last years BB50 show I saw.  The back surgery seems to have helped him greatly.  Foskett sounded decent too, and I'm not usually a fan of him.  He bailed Brian (and Al) out several times when they missed lines.

Noteworthy famous people in the audience were Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere and the Raiders, and Melinda with Brian's son.  Mark Lindsay sat maybe 15 feet from me in the audience and Melinda walked through the crowd several times with Brian's son.

I took my girlfriend who's a casual BB/Brian Wilson fan and she was absolutely floored by the musicianship of these guys.  As I sat there I couldn't help but think 1) I hope this isn't the last time I see Brian live, but I have a feeling it might be.  He's looking quite frail lately.  and 2) This is the equivalent to watching Mozart!  Here's the guy that wrote and recorded all this amazing music, live and in person.  He's got no idea how amazing he is and here he is with a dynamic band playing his creations.  It's almost surreal!

Also, I met a really cool guy named "Roger", never got his last name.  I think he lurks here.  If he sees this, shoot me a PM!

Pictures here, some are blurry.... sorry

Video here... not real clear sound or video, but has some cool parts.  Small snippet of Dave doing Little Bird which was kick ass!

I posted a comment also, and it was deleted.  Not only that, he blocked me completely from posting comments to it.  Typical low-life paparazzi.

Hey BB Universe -- we were in 202 Row 7, seats 1 and 2!  You must have been part of the group right behind us.  Great show.  Someone handed me a business card and asked me to send him the photos I took.  Not sure if that was part of your group.

So here's what I have of photos, some bad, lots good:

Enjoy all!

The show was  incredible.  There were some sound issues during the first set, and I was a tad annoyed with the lack of blend with the vocals.  Zero bass guitar could be heard from where we were also.  It got better as the night went on.  Brian was Brian -- he appeared to be really uncomfortable up there, particularly while standing playing bass.  He motioned for one of the stage people to come take the guitar right at the end of the show.  It looked like his back was killing him.  He stood at the back of the stage with Taylor (who is incredibly hot still), shuffling from one leg to another.  Poor guy must be hurting.

The surprise for me was Bruce.  Disney Girls sounded AMAZING.  I'm not normally a big fan of that song, but he freaking nailed it.  I swear his voice and Al's have not changed one bit.

We managed to make our way up to the front VIP area near the end of the show since no one was really enforcing anything at that point.  I was probably 20 feet from Brian.  Just incredible.  The whole thing was just surreal.  Here they are -- my musical idols -- onstage and performing.  Definitely one of the best shows I've ever been too.

I took a ton of photos, and I'll post a link soon.  I got really lucky with a few that came out really well.

Off topic -- $11 for a 24 oz can of Labatt Blue.  Insane!!!

I know it's been discussed in other threads and I have read mixed things, but what is the situation with bringing cameras in to the show?  I'd like to get some nice shots with my "real" digital camera, not my lousy cell phone camera.  I don't want to risk getting it confiscated though.

I too will be there.  Got some great seats not far from the front, on Brian's side of the stage.  I can't wait!

It almost looked like Brian was choking back tears when he said they were taking drugs.
17  Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Mojo single on YouTube on: July 26, 2011, 07:44:22 AM
Hello all,

I've been lurking on this board for a few months, and this is my first post.  I'm a 37 year old BW/BB nut, and have been since I heard my mother's "Help Me Rhonda" 45 when I was about 8 years old.  I've been in and out of the BB message boards and mailing lists for over 10 years, so I'm familiar with many of the names on this board.

I too am eagerly awaiting the release of the SMiLE Sessions, and I hit up this board daily to see if there's an update.  To my disappointment, still nothing new, not even a track list.

I bought the Mojo magazine after reading about it in this message board, then regretted it after actually reading it.  I have no turntable, so the single is basically a display piece for me at this point.   Desperate to hear the new mixes, I've been scouring YouTube, and finally found that someone posted both songs off the single.  Forgive me if this has been mentioned already, although I suspect not, as this looks to be a fairly new post to YouTube.

Wonderful:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrFeN16LZZ4

Cabinessence:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnnrJ4tCqZM&feature=iv&annotation_id=annotation_959681

If you play them in 480p they sound quite nice.  Lots clearer then an earlier posted Cabinessence video.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and re-introduce myself to everyone!

Mike
