3  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / Smiley Smilers Who Make Music / New song - Carousel Girl on: September 19, 2015, 11:40:33 AM
Hi

Here is one of my new songs and it's called 'Carousel Girl'. Was going for a real Pet Sounds/Odeyesy and Oracle feel.

I used the Waves Kramer Master Tape plugin to get a little bit of a 60's echo sound

6  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / Smiley Smilers Who Make Music / Re: Shifting Sands - free download on: December 05, 2014, 02:11:49 PM
Thanks. Basically, I got lucky with the comments from Jeff and Nelson. It was in the days of MySpace and I sent them each a friend request. They then must have listened to my stuff and then left those comments on my page.

Hi

I have n't posted this here before but it's probably one
Of our most Brian Wilson influenced tracks. I went for a
nice 6/8 time signature and threw in lots of suspended chords
And inversions:

Hi there

I have just released a new single which is heavily influenced
by Pet Sounds era Beach Boys with a splash of The Beatles and The Byrds.

Hi there. Thanks very much for listening and your kind words. You are right in that the eastern sounds are a sitar. That's cool that you can hear a bit of Kaleidoscope in there as I am a fan of them too :-)

Just wondered what your experiences are and whether you would recomend it? Am thinking of putting my album on it.

Great track. Your voice reminds of Elliot Smith and the song and harmonies are great
21  Non Smiley Smile Stuff / Smiley Smilers Who Make Music / Re: New album out now on: August 25, 2012, 06:53:48 AM
Just uploaded another track from the album to my Sound Cloud account:

http://soundcloud.com/user7720456/aquarius-summer

Was definitely going for a Beach Boys style three part harmony arrangement on the chorus

Hi there

Just a quick message to let you all know that my new album 'Let your free flag fly' is out now and is available from CD Baby and Amazon. It should also be available from itunes and other digital distributors shortly.

I guess the album is best described as Beach Boys influenced West Coast pop meets quirky English psychedelia. I have posted a few tracks on Reverbnation (www.reverbnation.com/thesunchymes) if you would like to listen. There are also previews of all the tracks at www.cdbaby.com/cd/thesunchymes.

I would also like to say thanks to all of you that have supported The Sunchymes so far.

best regards
