a new 30-second longer mix is included in SOS, track 7 disc 6
it adds a short "intro" of radio noise, a false start and instrumental portion on Back In Bed, the "wind" sound effect (what is that anyway?) intros I'm The Pied Piper rather than Radio Kingdom, and Magic Transistor Radio adds an instrumental portion also
Thank you, found that too!

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / New book: Hollywood Eden

This book came out last month, it's written by Joel Selvin. It covers the rock scene in LA from the end of the '50s to the '60s. I find it very interesting to see how many of the main characters (like Jan & Dean, Beach Boys, Phil Spector et al) had connections early on. Many details of Jan & Dean with Brian that I didn't know of.

The Twitter account @beachboyslegacy posted the following info, I have no idea whether the info is true or just a wish list, but I'd be very happy (esp för I've got a Friend) if it is true:
Feel Flows, The Beach Boys box-set, will include material from Dennis Wilson's lost album 'Poops/Hubba Hubba'. These are the tracks that will probably be in the set:
Settle Down Ol' Movie Behold The Night It's A New Day I've Got A Friend Baby, Baby All Of My Life/Ecology Remember: Settle Down: Sound Of Free early version Ol' Movie: Cuddle Up early version Behold The Night It's A New Day: shampoo commercial I've Got A Friend Baby, Baby: performed live once by The Beach Boys All Of My Life/Ecology = River Song early version

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffI5i8beBkg&feature=youtu.beHello Friends. A little something to distract you from the chaos out there. In this video, you'll learn how Brian arranged 7 guitars plus 2 Fender basses to create a powerful, driving track unlike anything he'd done for the Beach Boys before. As usual, I've created an hyper-accurate re-recording of the original backing track to effect a "fantasy multi-track" that we can use to learn about Brian's productions. This one was so accurate that YouTube thought it was the original recording!!! I really hope it helps you think about something other than the pandy. Thank you so much!

... according to the guy credited with same on the back cover thereof:
"My folks and I were at Brian's house. I was 12 and really didn't understand when he told us about his breakdown during Smile. So I just said to no one in particular... "Smile. Smiley Smile". And for a while I was a minor school celebrity !"
So Brian told them about his breakdown, meaning he blamed himself? What else can this guy say about what Brian said?

I think we have a lot to thank Melinda for. Brian seems happy with his life.
Ray, would I be right in saying you were with Melinda at the Wembley C50 show? I think I remember Brian making a dedication to you, and he is always happy when he spots Melinda during the shows.
Yes; I was sitting next to her ....Wembley and RAH were the two best shows of the entire C50 tour. The Beach Boys went out on a high note . They were the two best Beach Boys Concerts I had seen since Carnagie Hall , February 1971. Hands down. Is there any chance the Wembley or RAH show could get released on a CD/DVD?

Smiley Smile Stuff / General On Topic Discussions / Re: Are there people here who still believe the David Leaf version of the story?

Wasn't he the one who lobbied hard for "Fairy Tale Music" to be included on the Good Vibrations box set? I've never read his book and know basically nothing about him but that seems like another good instance of +1 for Leaf...
Certainly not the one responsible for All this is That or much of the Dennis material being included however. Can't speak for the DW material, but yes, were it not for a brace of UK fans, "ATIT" would not have been on the 1993 box. If it weren't for Domenic Priore and myself (and maybe one or two others) lobbying for it, "Baby Blue" wouldn't have been on the '93 box set. Thank you for that! Love that track. I'm not so hot for ATIT though. Sorry for OT.
