I'm asking for reasons behind those opinions and offering my own in return to help better understand where these viewpoints are coming from, that's what a discussion is for. If you don't wish to participate, don't participate.

I never bought into the "just be glad it's there" mindset. If I buy a meal at a restaurant and the meal sucks, I'm not going to say "well, I'm just glad that restaurant is still there to sell me their food". If the quality of the products and opinions of the product can't be discussed, everyone has to shut up, keep opinions to themselves or not discuss with each other, and just be happy no matter what the quality is? No thanks.

Some updates on Mike's upcoming album (hopefully I'm not the only one who cares  )

Looks like it'll be called 12 Sides of Summer, and feature probably feature It's OK w/ Hanson, from last summer, as well as another re-record, On and On And On. My guess is that it'll be just a collection of some upbeat summer songs. I'm certain there will be BBs re-records. I really liked Mike's songwriting work with Sam Hollander on RFTS, so I'm really hoping we can some new Mike originals on this one! Even more so, I'm hoping we get the Big Sur 4/4 that was teased in 2016! That version sounded great!!

I was reading a thread about this upcoming album on the Endless Harmony board, and people were discussing the inevitability that there will probably be BBs re-records on here. It was mentioned that it wouldn't be so much a problem, if he perhaps tried out some of the deeper cuts he co-wrote like All I Wanna Do, Aren't You Glad, Let The Wind Blow... I mean, if he's gonna re-record either way, maybe give those ones a shot. With the right production, they might sound pretty cool.  Although, some, if not most people, probably don't want any re-records at all. Which I understand to some degree; the idea of the artist just repeating themselves. But considering the fact that someday it'll be impossible for there to be a new BBs related album, I'll be thrilled, and at the least thankful, for whatever new music any of the guys come out with.

Oh for christ sake!  Doesn't this guy ever get the message that no one gives a sh*t about his horrible recording output? I would suppose that he somehow enjoys being ignored by people who buy or subscribe to new music and they definitely are not looking in his direction for his "latest release". There has to be someone who's encouraging this clown to waste his time trying to be relevant but I love that each new disaster infested, way less than mediocre release is met with public complacency.

If he makes you crazy everytime Mike love releases a album i hope he releases a dozen more

You're welcome to read back on my post history and read all the fair things I've writren about Mike, including the fact that I'm glad my family dramas haven't been played out in public (as I would not come across well)


What I took exception with regarding the poll is there were no negative options.  It's therefore censorship. This is from the person claiming there was no balance of opinion.

People post positive things about Mike all the time on here and suffer no abuse. I would fight for their right to do so.

It's when they try to police other people's opinions that problems arise.

Dutchie did 'reasonably consider whether the criticism of Mike is disproportionate', and (amongst some understandable moaning that a thread title which has proved highly contentious in the past rears it's head again), he recieved some reasonably considered replies. Instead of accepting these, he acts all hurt and offended, starts a poll which censors opinion, then goes off to garner solice and sympathy from the likes of AGD.
 
I'm sorry, but that's the point my patience runs out. The poll with the negative options was my response.

I never understand why everybody is so negative about ML. I never met him. I only saw him once performing live and he is a good showman and average singer for his age. I read his book but can i say i know ML? So does any ML basher knows him personal to get a good view of the man or do we all believe thats been written in the media? ...i like to hear the person who knows him personally and let us know how the man really is.

I love all beach boys songs and even the solo once. I cant wait to hear ML new solo release. And to be honest...i dont care how the front looks like, i never watch it when listning to the music :-)

Nope. I was in the stalls at the right (row 19). Only time I opened my mouth was to croak along to odd songs.

Glad you enjoyed it too. A question about Stamos on guitar: the man clearly oozes enthusiasm but I noticed him strumming all the way through the breaks in several songs! Wasn't he plugged in?! No matter----his drumming amply made up for it... 

I was impressed how John Stamos drummed the intro to dont worry baby. So powerfull.
