Definitely not Ringo--my Beatle-authority wife confirms it

Depending on my mood, I would say the final four tracks of the album could easily win.

That's funny--I prefer the first two tracks of the album--different strokes. It's great to see such a revered album receiving such interest in this Survivor poll

Took me years to develop the right ear for some of it but it's up there!

I do agree that its a good album, just not a good BB album for me. That said, I do given it a relatively regular listen--it's a nice change of pace every once in awhile

SDT--then I vote for Disney Girls until it dies--which, sadly, will probably be about 6 rounds or so--truthfully I should vote for Disney Girls as I consistently skip it, while I don't with SDT, but SDT is s weaker track and thus it garners my vote

Hold On Dear Brother…

This is going to be a toughie though… some of my favourite BBs tracks reside on this album. If you asked for favourites first instead of least favourites though, it'd be a doddle!

Can't agree with ya there--not my fave album and I'm in a rush to get rid of several tracks here. Compared to Sunflower this album is the polar opposite for me--the first track that needs to go is

He Come Down

Tears In The Morning

It's very nicely produced, I really like the accordion, in fact on a Bruce solo album it'd probably be a highlight...

But on Sunflower it sticks out like a sore thumb and is absolutely the weak link of the album.

Bruce himself has agreed with this opinion, stating that he shouldn't have made it a BB track. That being said I like it more than

Cool Cool Water--in my opinion that last 2 tracks of Sunflower are the weakest. I know I'm on an island with the Cool Cool Water track but its charm was lost on me, and I'm a SMiLE nut

Little Girl I Once Knew! It's a blowout (just like my tire when it met the latest pothole!)

Breakaway, and it's not close for me. I would have entitled Brian's upcoming biopic Breakaway, not Love and Mercy, I think the song is pitch perfect and I just love the sentiment it is expressing. Definitely the best thing Murry had any hand in creating!

I am a BB fan first and foremost--their harmonies are second to none, and I truly believe unattainable by any who do not share a gene pool. I came to the BB through SMiLE and then, through That Lucky Old Sun, through a well-timed cheap used CD purchase, and while I do love all things Brian, I do have to call myself a BB fan first and foremost

Thanks for the update. How did Al sound? Was it a straight acoustic set? Al & a guitar? Any members of Brian's superb band performing with Al & Blondie? How was the venue? Crowd? Well attended? Sorry for all the questions. I'm miffed I couldn't make it. Bad timing for me. Any answers are appreciated

Wanted to bump this thread to see if we have any early reports from attendees?

No it's not. The frame is not part of the Mona Lisa painting, but lyrics are part of a song. Little Girl is a well produced recording, but the song itself isn't good.

You're totally right. It's not good. It's fucking GREAT!

Agreed. I Do deserves to win Part 1, WIBNTLA deserves to win Part 3, and The Little Girl I Once Knew deserves to win Part 2!
I'd be heavily disappointed if it didn't

My grandfather, 11 years the elder of my grandmother, was a merchant marine. When he left to serve, he was 17 and my grandmother, a girl down the street from him was 6--when he returned from service, he was 28 and she was 17--she wasn't the little girl he once knew. 70+ years later my grandfather has passed on, but he left behind 6 children, 8 grandchildren, and a wealth of memories. So, no, I don't have a problem with the lyrics or the message of The Little Girl I Once Knew. The music is a masterpiece. Definitely in my top 3 BB songs--along with This Whole World and Little Bird

Love how Melinda agreed to marry Brian on Marilyn's birthday so Brian wouldn't forget their anniversary…and she gets worried about him singing another woman's name in Sherry She Needs Me (so it gets changed to She Says That She Needs Me)

Little Girl I Once Knew. Cheesy lyrics.

That's akin to saying you don't like the Mona Lisa because the picture frame has a spot on it

I must've listened to "I'll Bet He's Nice" several hundred times since 1977, and it still blows me away. The arrangements....those arrangements....brilliant. There is so much going on in "I'll Bet He's Nice", yet it doesn't sound like it's too much. Is it genius? I think it is. Are Brian's arrangements on "I'll Bet He's Nice" genius?

Love the arrangement, think it's genius, and I love it as a historical snap shot of the 3 Wilson brothers and where their voices were in 1976. Is there any other BB track that features Brian, Carl, and Dennis as the only 3 prominent leads?

Little Girl, We're Aging Together

Sorry any votes for The Little Girl I Once Knew to be eliminated immediately self-distruct

For Brian:

- "I'll Bet He's Nice"

Good suggestion…IMHO it would be a great way for BAD to provide a tribute to Dennis and Carl by having some creative video inclusion of their parts. Always loved I'll Bet He's Nice since it was such a balance of all 3 Wilson brothers
