Marilyn cut a demo of a (to my knowledge) still-unreleased Jackie DeShannon / Carole Bayer Sager tune, "It's Good to Know You Know," produced by DeShannon. An acetate exists. I have that Artisan Sound Recorders acetate in my collection. Do you have more info about the recording? The label states In House Production? Do you have a (approximate) recording date?

It was recorded by Dean, Joe Osborne and Larry Knetchel in Osborne's garage studio. Recorded circa June 1967 Though the label of UA 50859 (erroneously) states "recorded fall ´68". So, which one is on "Pet projects"? It´s the version released as UA 50859 by Jan & Dean.

Lebanon? They actually released Beach Boys records in Lebanon? WOW; are there other BBs released there? And I know of 3 others: Heroes & Villains (CL 15510L), Do It Again (CL 15554L) and Break Away (CL 15598L)

Curious Amount of Covers- I'm wondering if he's ever discussed how many cover he is responsible for in the Beach Boy catalog, whether it's a lead vocal or production or his idea. I think the list goes as: Cotton Fields, Sloop John B, School Days, Peggy Sue, Runaway, Crocodile Rock, The Times They are Changin', Lady Liberty (to an extent), and Shake, Rattle, and Roll. And come to think of it, a lot of Al's "originals" aren't all that original. - At My Window: loosely based on ''Raspberries, Strawberries' by the Kingston Trio. - Beaks of Eagles: features a poem by Robinson Jeffers. - California: bassline sounds an awful lot like the one from California Girls. - Christmas Time is Here Again: Peggy Sue with new lyrics. - Kona Coast: chorus borrows heavily from Hawaii. - Lady Lynda: based on Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by Bach. - California Calling: Surfin' USA Part 2. - Island Girl: loosely based on Whispering Bells by the Del-Vikins. - PT Cruiser: a total rip-off of Shut Down and Little GTO. one more very evident example for "using" someone else´s song: - Lookin´ At Tomorrow (A Welfare Song): The Wanderer (by the Kingston Trio)

Some great pics on that video. Can anyone provide dates and context for the following ones?
- 0:02 to 0:12: Brian wearing a coat and holding what looks like a thin microphone - 1:01 to 1:30: Brian singing with Marilyn & Diane, all of them wearing psychedelic clothes - 1:31 to 1:45: A heavier, lightly bearded Brian at a mixing console (1973 Spring session?) - 2:15 to 2:19: Brian with a blonde girl (Marilyn?) - 3:20 to 3:25: Brian with one of his dogs - 3:36 to 3:45: Brian at the drum kit. Is this the "Hal Blaine" performance that Stephen Desper witnessed and later erased at Brian's request?
- 1:01 to 1:30: Brian singing with Marilyn & Diane, all of them wearing psychedelic clothes Whiskey -A-Go-Go - 2:15 to 2:19: Brian with a blonde girl (Marilyn?) Ginger That´s a blonde Marilyn.

"Wich Stand" (spelled Whitch on the AFM sheet) was recorded on August 5, 1963 at Gold Star Studios, along with "Girlie" and "Hot Harp" (featuring Maureen Love). The finished master was submitted to Jim Economides at Capitol Records who declined to release it.

Also, from the March 1980 edition of the "Add Some Music" fanzine: "Some Beach Boys helped out on backing vocals for an upcoming Elton John album. Al and possibly another Beach Boy or two will appear on the next John Stewart album". Any word on either of these?
Bruce Johnston, Curt Becher, Joe Chemay, Jon Joyce, Peter Noone & Toni Tennille sang background vocals on "Dear God" from the 21 At 33 album in 1980. I have no idea about Al & John Stewart.
