there is no reason why this shouldnt be discussed, and there is actual info out there about how the band members felt about gay people according to bios. jeeze.
uhhh according to the gaines book, dennis, mike and brian were not into the gays back in the day. hopefully the mike and brian have evolved since then.
hey bittersweet if you work at the one on masonic, thats my local!
so my question is totally dumb... some time ago someone linked to some classic beach boys (pre pet sounds I THINK) demo with a brian guide vocal (i guess he's not the lead on the final released version?) and it blew me away and i cant remember what the song is and it's killing me!!! any suggestions?
holy sh*t the conspiracy theories here are amazingly hilarious. really someone can't see how an old dude running an older dudes fb page can see a fan mad video, get a kick out of it and post it to the page? fucking christ.
it's gotta be This Whole World imo. considering Brian's state at the time in contrast with how amazing, beautiful and joyous this song is, it's a bit of a miracle. also it rocks really hard.
I mean from that list it's gotta be Holland. Surprised that's considered "sub par" as everyone here seems to love it and it was even acclaimed during its release (according to the Rolling Stone reviews I've read).
Wow thanks for posting that. Sounds like the connection runs much deeper than I thought. Can't believe Stephen Despar ended up recording Manson and not Alex smh. History might have been way different if he got that deal with Brother.
Thanks for the answer, SWD! I'm totally going to read your book and your answer totally makes sense! But, you know for us obsessives, it's nice to know who plays on what and if I never asked I never would have known the BB/Surf Punks connection!
