Ive noticed todays teens seem to be more into 'older' music than when I was in high school in the 90s. It's almost like it's cool/hip/jiggy whatever the word is these days, anyway...it's like the 60s-80s are as cool with the young folk as the current stuff. I know from seeing the kids in my apartment complex, former neighbor kids, and now at my daughter's school (so it's trending younger now too)
Eh not really, todays music kinda stinks

Okay here goes... Loved it, I think the vocals for the song very well. I'd personally make them a bit louder and add a tiny more reverb to them, considering they're mid range. Stylistically, I really like mix, the dry feel you have going is nice! I can't tell if you have a bass line yet... If you're interested I could take a swing at a hot bass line and send it your way if you send me some chords I would consider adding a little reverb to the drums, but that's honestly stylistic and what you've got is great in a different way! Going along with the style, I would recommend adding some nice harmonies, they'd fit beautifully with this style you've got here. I love the story it tells, not many people worry about painting a storyboard for the listener, it's something I always try to do that you've really done here, awesome work. So in conclusion, love it! Awesome work.

If you want to reach a broader audience with your music, you're gonna have to improve your vocals. It's better to hear it from an anonymous guy on the internet than from someone in real life.
For a long time, I've said I agree with this. I get paid to make Instrumental tracks, not operas. This is more of my thing, if I ever decide to have a career in music beyond instrumentals, I'll form a group with someone talented in that field. Oh, and there's also the Bob Dylan excuse...

Thank you for commenting Mike, I really appreciate it. I like your ideas and would love to give them a try to see how they would sound. A couple of problems: I don't own a ukulele and if I did I would not know how to play it. As for bass, I don't even hear it in a song unless it is in the foreground or I'm deliberately trying to listen for it. If I send you an mp3 would you be willing to do a quick take on your ideas? I do own a gulele (I think that is what it is called) but it just doesn't have the same feel. It's like a small guitar with a capo on the fifth fret.
Let me know and I will send the mp3 to you (PM your email address to me).
Thanks again for your kind words.

I'd love to, send me a PM (Oh, and chords would be a bit helpful too and save some time haha)

Let's do an exercise here, just for fun. I'll post another photo taken on the set and anyone who knows the story behind it and wants to comment can feel free to post any analysis, interpretation, or even assumption about what's being shown and how it relates to the film's overall quality. Keep in mind the film is still being worked on and finalized, I believe the Hollywood folks call it "post"? I'm not sure, please correct if needed. Here goes nuttin': Just to be that guy, Pet Sounds was a post session title. Should say "Run James Run" or nothing.

I love it. So lets approach this from my POV. You've got a great melody. Once you plop in lyrics it'll be awesome. a poppy bassline would be killer on this this one maybe a "boom boom bah dah, boom boom BAH DAH (Higher up)" A doubled ukulele surrounding but blending with the guitar would be great, panned to each side with the guitar having enough reverb to be the glue to hold it all the drums should be pretty clean and not very touched, also keep it scarce like it is do some real claps with the synth clap in the back only to add some pazazz, like you can only feel it not hear it also, keep the rhodes, it sounds great you've got something really great going on here, sounds like a modern pop hit in the best ways great work bud
