From There To Back Again seriously feels like Pet Sounds style post-Smile.  If I had to say what I'd think his music would have been like in 1969 if Smile came out then it'd be that song.

I wonder if it could be because that's what it was supposed to be. But anyway, I agree it's a pretty sad song. 

Does anyone else think that the end suite is kinda a natural progression of Beach Boys music post Smile?  Especially from there to back again.  Mike's "bah bah bah" part at the end sorta has the groove of late 60s/early 70s stuff.  And the piano work is jazzy and quite cool on all of it.  I feel like in the era the beatles put out like "hey jude", the beach boys would put out this style of music. 

Bill and Sue actually reminds me of a Brandon Flowers track off his solo album Flamingo.  So weird.  (leader of the Killers btw)

Jeff is definitely doing the "Isn't it time, oh-oh-oh, isn't it time?" falsetto part.

yeah doubling mike.  seems like a minor part, but it was that part that made me grin like crazy.

i agree klaw, but once the chorus kicks in, i just get blown over by "f*ckING RADIO SONG" feelings. it reminds me of what phil spector said about i get around, that's it's "silly" enough to be a hit or whatever.

Target!  This morning, they had just opened.  I found it in the new releases section, pretty sure I was one of the first there lol.  Got my copy, went to my car, opened it, saw a weird staining on the back of the album case.  I sat there for 5 minutes letting my OCD-tendencies build before I went and exchanged it for an ok copy.  THIS WAS GONNA BE A PERFECT MOMENT AND NO LIL DISCOLORATION WAS GONNA RUIN IIIT

I know they've played it live.  I like to think I'm slightly tuned into the radio because i'm only 25, and this song hits me as the most modern radio friendly song.  Super catchy, nice drums, hand claps repeats the catchiest part over and over.  If they're gonna have a hit on the mainstream radio, this is the only one that has a shot.  The most "fun in the sun" song on there and is seriously the only song of deserving a real radio push. 
Every summer there's a quirky summer hit with ukelele a summery feel, this one seems to be similar.

i think it would be interesting to put it before Strange World.  You'd reaaaally get a sense of two sides of a record. almost too much though

I love that this sog has two lead ins to the chorus, and they're both awesome, then the chorus is awesome on top of that. So good.
