Does anybody on here know how to obtain the presale codes for tomorrow morning?

For the NPP Tour, I was emailed a code just before the presale.  I think I'd signed up for it when I registered for the BW Forum. 

I put something on the BW Forum to confirm whether or not I would get a similar email but my, and other similar, questions are being unanswered. 

I just want to make sure I'm not shut out as the venue I'm shooting for is not a big one. 

I have no idea if pre sale codes are different for each venue but the Portland Maine show was Pet Sounds

One curious thought.  As a traveler to Spokane WA. many times a year to see my grandchildren, how in the world would the Spokesman Review (which is still the morning paper there) have gotten this story....Rather amazing I would think.

This was an excerpt from the Gaines book. Like I said many pages back, even before the Chicago/Minnesota airport story was brought up, we haven't heard anything in this thread that wasn't in Heroes and Villains.

   drbeachboy,   You inquired as to why Brian was on tour...if keeping DRUGS out of Brian's life was so important. I assume you mean why risk having him out there on the road...and accessible to people and drugs. Well lets examine the situation... Brian had been in bed for the better part of 10 years... doing massive amounts of DRUGS... and not much else... except EAT... which would explain why he was 306 lb's when Stephen hired Stan and I. If I haven't mentioned the fact already... I will again. Brian would keep large sums of money in his house... make a phone call... and put $1000.00 dollars in his mail box.That was the extent of the effort Brian would put forth in a normal week... besides chowing down steaks and ice cream and what ever else his heart desired... the Beverly Glen market was only a phone call away! Marilyn was young and couldn't stop the GREAT Brian Wilson from doing anything... she couldn't even get him to take a shower... or clip his toenails and heavily stained fingernails... I forgot to mention his CHAIN SMOKING two to three packs of Marlboro's a day! Brian's voice was ravaged... by design... and sex was a forgone conclusion. So... in answer to your question... why was Brian out on tour? IN short, it was to STOP this very serious self destructive lifestyle!!! Brian was caught in the life threatening THROES of addiction... and as most of you know... the DRUG ADDICT is the last one to know it... to do anything about it... or to even CARE that the problem exists! And time just has a way of slipping away! And then they DIE!!! Brian was trying to kill himself... weather he knew it or not...(some think he did) he had no desire to live! According to the Doctors... I know that seems hard for people to comprehend...because he was so talented and so admired and so rich and famous... and had so much to give to the world... SO MUCH TO LIVE FOR... but that was the bottom line. In Brian's mind LIFE was a twisted JOKE...he was LOST in a sea of deception(so to speak) at least that's what the SHRINKS conveyed to Marilyn and Stephen. So... they decided because Brian was a Musical Genius ... he should be doing some thing Musical. And because he was adamant about not wanting to write songs... or make hit records again... It was the Recording Studio... pacing around... until he got sick of that... and sits down at the Piano, and does what comes naturally to him, and then going out on the road (making money) but most of all... to interrupt the downward spiral of his existing DRUG infested life!!! That's the best I can explain it... I'm sure many of you can do better!

Only in the Bizaro World of the Beach Boys would it make sense to take someone out of the confines of their home and put them on a major rock tour to try and keep them away from drugs.

Daniel Johnston... well we all know who that is! I do appreciate you finding someone who has recorded music from an Institution... could you share some of his songs with us... the Genre...anything to enlighten us?

 Briefly -  Most of the original / longtime touring members,  remain  freinds with Al Jardine and not the Love's. Read between the line's. The politic's behind the scene's were ass kissing.  Some  like to ass kiss and others wouldn't.   Cowsill has trouble  turning on  a keyboard  & didn't replace Meros. Cowsill was bucking for Kowalski's job for years and finally MK. got sick of all the bull & didn't care anymore either, he's glad to be out too.   Tim Bonahome took over for Mike M. because he didn't want to be sh*t-canned either but in all fairness he isn't even close to the musicain Meros was.  Tim is a good guy thou but doesn't sing either & that was impossible anyways playing all the decks of keyboards & B3  Meros played.  The sound suffer's without a B3 onstage it's the choice of many professional musicians even today for the "fat sounds". Cowsill & Totten got into the band because Adrian and Jackie were not friends and his days were numbered also. Cowsill was brought in to sing and Totten to play the guitar as Adrian needed a break from the madness & left the band to go to England for Christmas 2000... so on and so forth..
Also for $200 a gig and all the travel it's a tough way to make a living & stay married .... the $$$ never did trickle down much despite all the $$$ Love makes.

The thing is we haven't heard anything from Rocky that wasn't detailed in the Gaines book already. Oh, with the exception of the fact that the drunken sots at the "yacht party" all cheered Rocky and Steve when they announced they were going to put a beat down on Dennis. Or the fact that the gluttonous Carl Wilson was spitting out cold cuts as Rocky knocked him out. Kiss his ass for more details like this? No thanks.

The first two summer dates announced (Burlington VT,Portland ME) are already sold out. Glad I got my Portland tix...3rd row!

Of course these days the issue is differentiating an authentic Mike Love autograph vs those done by Foskett.

I too couldn't immediately place the tune but I said to my wife "I swear that's a Beach Boys song". She rolled her eyes and said "not everything has to always be about the Beach Boys you know". Sure enough

If I remember correctly no one filled in for Michael on the 1990 dates he missed; Carl, Al, and Bruce just went out themselves with the usual backup members.

Levitation Festival? Surely Mike will show up.

Visited the park earlier this summer and was really blown away with all the big names. Don Knotts had a great plaque with a beautifully etched plaque with all his famous characters portrayed. Rodney Dangerfield was prominent and can just picture him picking this spot as one last up yours to all those that stood in his way they out his zany life.

Carl's grave is positioned in he back left corner, under the shade of a beautiful tree. Very peaceful vibes at this place, I must say.

The funny thing about Don Knotts stone is that when I visited there about 6 years ago I sought his grave out as I'm a big fan of his. The marker that you describe was not the one on his grave then. It was a very small stone with just his name and dates on it. Very plain for such an accomplished man. It must have been a temporary one as I've seen the one you are talking about in pics and it's very cool. Also, if I remember correctly Rodney Dangerfields stone has an inscription that says "here goes the neighborhood".

I listen to it in the dark, as instructed.

I never did like TWGMTR as an album title. As many have said Summer's Gone would have been the best choice, but I recall reading that Brian purposely didn't call it that because he felt that wasn't going to be the last BB's album. Oh well. I think they should have named that album "Gold", as in their golden anniversary.
