Friends, 20/20 is too much of a hodge-podge

Love You, because as good as POB is I find myself listening to tracks off of LY a lot more.

These earlier albums are so hard for me. They are just TOO similar.

Bruce certainly knew how to play that thing. So who knows.. (but yeah, I guess it's unlikely).

Did someone mention Bruce Johnston playing bass?

To be perfectly honest, I have a higher tolerance for Disco than most people around here, which is probably why I enjoy the disco Here Comes The Night.
Anyway, I actually quite liked Pipeline. Bruce looks adorable on the bass in that video  LOL

Yeah I really like that song as well. I don't see why so many people seem to hate on it.

This is one thing I've always imagined.  Certain songs, while possibly good or even perfect for its respective wra, have a what could have been feel to it had it been recorded in a different period.  Now I'm of the opinion that just about anything would sound great in a Pet Sounds sheen, but certain songs just seem like they would have been divine in another period and I can almost imagine.

A few that come to mind that I would have loved to hear...

Let's Put Our Hearts Together circa Pet Sounds
You're Still A Mystery circa Today!
Goin' On circa Sunflower
I Know There's An Answer circa Love You
She's Got Rhythm circa Surfer Girl

I can definitely imagine she's got rhythm as a mid-tempo ballad.

Let Him Run Wild with Brian's Love You Era vocals would be very good.
I can imagine the farty synths during the verse and more wobbly sounding ones during the chorus with the horns.

Girl Don't Tell Me would translate great with 20/20 Carl vocals

Hushabye with Al singing Mike's lead circa M.I.U. (totally hearing Lady Lynda)

Kona Coast to be be released in '63 on Surfer Girl

Slip On Through with Blondie in '72

All I Wanna Do around Smiley Smile era so it would be a little more experimental.

That's all I got for now

If they told Dennis how old he lived to be he would probably just party even more knowing he didn't have much time left!

Because Mike lost his tambourine and Dennis started kicking all the drums off of the studio so no one could control them.

Everyone on this forum always talks about how the beach boys went downhill after endless summer.

A lot of people seem to think that its because endless summer came out.

I think the dudes were running out of creative juice.

I think it's because it was for a charity.

I bet Al probably felt a little stifled when he couldn't do as many folk / americana songs as he wants to.

I personally never heard what people were talking about when they said AC reminded them of the beach boys until I listened to Time To Get Alone recently.
It made me like the song a lot more.
