Adam, I've gotta disagree with you about "Merry Christmas Baby" -- that's one of my favorite songs on the Christmas album. Yeah, it does sound a bit unfinished to me, but it's still far and away more pleasing to these ears than any cut with the orchestra. In my opinion, that was not a good pairing of artists between the BBs and the orch. Just my opinion, YMMV.

The photo of Carl from the top post was taken from a calendar done for the Carl Wilson Foundation years ago. IIRC, it’s a personal photo from either Gina or one of his sons, and the calendar is the only place it was published.
Landy is behind the estrangement, as far as I can tell. He worked to drive a wedge between Brian and all of his family members. I've also heard that the brothers reconciled towards the end.
Very sad news… I’ve often referred to Hawkins as “the happiest drummer in rock” because he always had that big grin when he was drumming and was so thoroughly engaged in his playing. He did a great job singing “Holy Man.”
