Title: Random Beach Boys Moments Redux
Post by: ♩♬🐸 Billy C ♯♫♩🐇 on January 20, 2011, 08:26:59 PM

Beach Boys and the Wizard of Oz joke
If Dennis was the soul of the band, Carl was the heart, and Brian was the brain, does that make Al and Bruce munchkins?

Somebody had that as their signature on a message board. Ok, no big deal, right? Well, it was on a company message board at my job on our tech support forums (internal). For obvious reasons I can't link, but that just was completely unexpected and out of the blue that I had to share.

Besides the obvious (hearing it on the radio or in a movie/tv), what stories do you guys have of running into BB related things in places you'd never expect?

Hearing and seeing Ryan Stiles playing Good Vibrations on the airport security monitor on an episode of The Drew Carey Show was pretty random.  ;D

In a state of reduced consciousness the other night, I found myself drinking tea with Brian Wilson while he was reciting his 'smog' rant....even to the point of saying "Eh, let's play that back..." - not even kidding.

I never really expected to run into Brian Wilson in my sleep  ;D

Anyone else have a dream where any of the Beach Boys were present?

I had a really weird one where it was me and the group, looking like circa 67, all trying to sing the Wind Chimes fade in a tiny room which had sunshine streaming through the windows in some kind of tropical cottage. Eventually we all got bored and went into the kitchen where Marilyn had made us dinner, and we were all somewhat sore about Brian being a jackass during the singing (we kept getting it wrong) so we didn't say much.

It was surprisingly banal aside from the fact i was hanging with the beach boys!

At the end of a Chumbawamba song ("She's Got All The Friends"), I was pleasantly surprised when I heard a sample of Murry Wilson saying "What's a matter? Got enough money buddy?" from the Rhonda sessions.

Elsewhere on this board I recounted my dream how I tried to get to Al's house at Big Sur but his big black horse bit me in the arm and dragged me away. Another BB dream I had from a couple of years back is this one:

I was at a small venue where Mike and Bruce used to play and I sat next to them as the show started. Bruce started singing an old doowop song called "Tell Me Why" (it exists in real life but I'm not sure that it's called "Tell Me Why"). In the beginning I was disappointed with the show since they mostly played oldies and celebrated the memories of Carl and Dennis in weird ways. But then it got better. I came across the written set list and found out that they were to play "Aren't You Glad" as the set's 34th song. I also think I saw "Dennis Wilson Toy Drive Announcement" on there.

In the intermission I hung out on stage and sat beside Mike. I was just about to ask Mike what the English word for 'sewing machine' was (I asked him in Swedish, I believe), when Carl, who was there by then, started singing a really lame version of "Time to Get Alone" that suddenly came to total life in the chorus when Taylor Mills among others joined in. There was also a basket of rare BB singles to look through and I picked up "Summer In Paradise" on Safari Records. Suddenly Al ran up on stage and introduced the next song. "It's him! It's Al", I shouted, whereupon he quickly left the stage again. I tried to follow him and saw him through a narrow opening in the door. He pulled me through the door to an underground corridor after I'd asked him what he was doing there since they were fighting. He showed me the way through a maze until we suddenly were in a cupboard that my parents have in their living room. In the cupboard, a big furnished room contained a big enlargement of the SIP LP cover. "There it is," Al said, "that's the reason why I want to get back together with the rest of the guys again." He didn't want SIP to be the last studio album they did. I told him that he didn't have to drag me all the way here to tell me that since I had SIP with me. I pulled out the single I'd picked up and two copies of the album.

We walked closer to the enlargement and suddenly we at a empty hayloft. It was dark and the building seemed about to collapse. Carl was there. He pointed to the SIP cover (which now wasn't the familiar one but a real picture from a BB show) and said that it looked weird, that it looked like someone had dropped a guitar in the picture. He pointed to middle of the picture, and yes, there was a guitar lying there, scattered (as much as a guitar can lie scattered). To the right, closest to the camera, Carl stood, and a bit further away was Mike. "I know, it's weird, we've discussed that on the Smiley board," I said. I tried to explain what an online message board was for Carl, since he had been dead since 1998, but I don't know if I did that good a job. We got back to the show room and the band had just finished "Aren't You Glad". I was bothered to have missed it, but felt that my chat with Carl and Al had weighed it up.

End of dream. That's what happens when you go to bed drunk, I guess.

I once had a dream where I heard the entire SMiLE album in complete form as recorded by The Beach Boys in 1967. ChIld Is The Father of The Man had complete lyrics, and they were completely different than the GWPS album. The song was also quite different than the existing versions.

In Season 4 (I think) of Lost, playing the Good Vibrations melody on a keypad was the code to unlocking something or other on a submarine.

I didn't recognise it at all, but to make such a deal of it must've meant someone on the show was pretty big fan.

my fav random moments in the past would be:

-Almost Famous' use of Feel Flows and the album cover of Pet Sounds among other great albums.

-In high school, during my first few years of my Brian Wilson craze, I had pasted a pic on my notebook of Brian (a very famous photo of Brian in the studio, I believe it's during Pet Sounds and he's wearing a red/striped shirt and in the booth at the studio) and then I typed out "I just wasn't made for these times" right under the picture... I had so many people ask, "what does that mean?" It felt good to be in the know-how of something in my opinion that was hip and something nobody my age had heard of.

-IDK if this counts for a moment, but while reading some heavy literature about the recording of POB/Bambu, I never realized that David Leaf sang backing vocals for He's a Bum[/i, what a story and one lucky bastard!

i was sitting in a study area at university and a dude who also at the table, who is younger than me, probably 19, was like "i heard this weird beach boys song.  from that smile or something.  little pad.  it was really good."

he then proceeded to take adderall before his exam but, good music isn't lost to the youth quite yet.

I also recently had a great dream about obsessing over the shortenin' bread riff...all I remember was telling one of my friends about how BW incorporates it in his music and I sung parts (kinda just parts from Metal Beach). and then I started playing it on piano (which I can't play) and synced recordings of Brian playing and us playing and singing it....great was that dream.

Haha i would  never go to charleston, WV for spring break.  Seeing all those copies of pet sounds made me think If i was a multi-millionaire i would buy as many pet sounds copies as possible, and hand out the copies of the album to as many people as possible to spread the music of such a masterpiece.

had a dream last night, because of BW's interest in Ruby Baby, my friends, a young Brian Wilson, and myself were singing Ruby Baby (the party! version) including oinks. It was interesting to say the least....I think it happend because I sing that song to myself so much. If it wasn't for Brian, I'd prolly never know that song.

I was just reminded the other day as I saw a picture from BB: An American Family-mini-series about a CD that was available through Cracker Barrel , a basic BB Greatest Hits comp, but it has a photo of the cast as the Beach Boys! I never did buy it, though I'm wondering if it's a "collector's item" being what I'd see as a huge mistake...I would have honestly rather have had a "soundtrack to the film," not the greatest hits stuff...just the rarities involved, but we received most of those on Hawthorne, CA, but then again, there's a lot of piano stuff that Brian recorded/"gave" for the series and some Alan Boyd work (which I'd love to hear all of and own); his Smile-esq song ("Geronimo Leaps and Bounds the Glory of the Dustbowl") and a couple other things I can't remember, did he do that "backing track/song" during the Spector scene?

I was in a Thai (I believe) restaurant recently and as we were eating I noticed -- very much to my surprise -- "I Do" by The Beach Boys playing overhead! This seemed like an extremely odd choice because, I mean, it's not exactly the sort of song that is the purview of casual fans. Really cool though, and a good song to boot! I considered asking if it was a satellite service or if someone is just a huge BBs fan, but I demurred...

Beach Boys and the Wizard of Oz joke
If Dennis was the soul of the band, Carl was the heart, and Brian was the brain, does that make Al and Bruce munchkins?

To add to that, would that make Mike the Wicked Witch of the West? And to that end, would that not make Bruce one of the flying monkeys? Just a thought.

Anyway, I was trying to get to sleep one night and I couldn't, the person in the room next to me was pumping out some dance music (or whatever) at some unholy volume at some ungodly hour. As the night dragged on (slowly) one generic dance track blended into the next but suddenly I hear the unmistakeable sound of the intro to Good Vibrations.

It couldn't be, I thought. The opening notes went on for longer than they should, so I didn't think that it was GV. But then Carl's vocals kick in and after his part is done it bursts into some awful techno or dance-trance-prance-etc. beat, accompanying the chorus. Carl's next set of vocals came in and repeat. An utterly terrible "remix" but it was a surprise nonetheless.

Never did get to sleep.

Gotta love insurance companies. You pay them your hard earned money for years and then the one time you actually need their "service" they screw you over. Similar thing happened to a friend who was hit by a drunk motorcyclist. Blue Cross wanted to send him somewhere to die instead of paying the 2 million+ dollars for hospital stays and rehabilitation. Over two years later and they're still fighting them....

Hope everything has been and continues to work out for you.  :)

Going to a Minor League baseball game and finding out the promotion theme for game was "christmas in July". They then played "Little Saint Nick" over the PA system. If it was me in charge of song selection, I would of played the SOT of "christmas day", with Brian's salty language comments on that song.

Being at an American college football game and hearing the entire 20/20 version of Our Prayer played over the stadium's PA system in front of 100,000 people during a timeout. It happened to me on September 18th, 2010 in Knoxville, Tennessee home of the Tennessee Volunteer football team. I was a fan of the visiting team (Florida Gators!) and was absolutely astonished that they played the song. Honestly, it was one of the oddest places to hear it because it really had no relevance to the game or setting and it is usually not the type of song or music snippet they play during football games here.

I'm sure the look on my face was priceless. I thought to myself, "oh my God I know this song" after the first few notes and that turned into "this is absolutely unbelievable!" It sounded great, btw, but was absolutely random.

Its like a trivia question at my work of who my fav band is. People just can't believe it.

One time, a co worker thought my cd labeled as "Beach Boys rarities" was filled with porn, and the label was just a cover up.

Little did he know, it was true.  >:D

When I tell coworkers my favourite band is the Beach Boys they usually look at me as if I've just dropped my pants or asked them the square root of something.

I think a lot of people (and this is more true the further they are removed from youth culture) don't even have a favorite band or performer because music is not something they value that much. It's just something that's there in the background. For most of these folks, if the musician is not perceived as currently cool or happening, there's no point in listening. Others will stick to their initially perceived notions as to what's acceptably cool and what isn't regardless of how many decades pass.

The Beach Boys are somewhat unique in that their fans are often split into factions instead of being united. Almost everyone has heard of this band, but most are really only familiar with the surfing hits image and the largest contingent of actual fans probably see Beach Boys music as being akin to Jimmy Buffet's in that it's fun music to listen to at a summer party or concert. Another faction is more interested in the artistry and production of the more sophisticated material from the golden era of '66 / '67. A slightly smaller faction are into the post-SMILEY SMILE material or appreciate what Dennis did on his own. Of course, there are fans who like it all, but I think the audience is divided a lot more than, say, Beatles fans (is there a large contingent of mop-top fans who really only know "I Want To Hold Your Hand" and "She Loves You" and are not that into "A Day In The Life" or "Strawberry Fields Forever"?).

Those who are not very serious about music will be the ones to roll their eyes at your interest in the Beach Boys. Those who love and know music will understand (they may still dislike the Beach Boys, but they wouldn't see the band as irrelevant to the growth of popular music).

Why do people insist on abusing the word "random"? Why do they insist upon bastardizing its true meaning? The world may never know.

Why was it played?

There was a timeout during the game (stoppage in play) and they had gone to a TV commercial break so there was no play on the field. During that time either the college band plays or they play music over the stadium speakers and they happened to play Our Prayer over the speakers.

Dean Martin - who would become Carl's father-in-law - as member of a surf band. And they even play a song the Beach Boys would record themselves. Coincidence ? Probably yes...

The seats were,in fact, down front but so far over to the left that you couldn't see anything. Things were even more complicated when a local drunk who had been sitting in Al's lousy seats began to act up. Al ended up packing up latest wife and 2 little Al's and went off to find a better seat. He complained to the ushers as well using the "I'm Al Jardine of the BB's" line. I must admit the seats blew and the drunk was an ass. ;D

In a way, it's kind of good to see that he used that line. Jardine seems so utterly and completely unaffected by the enormous fame he has had, it is startling. It's quite impressive how down-to-earth he is. You have to wonder how he processed some of the craziness that surrounded him.

So long as this is a story-telling thread, I might as well tell my story with Beach Boys bootlegs:

From 2008 to 2010, I ran a channel on YouTube called SMiLEReconstruction, in which I uploaded various fanmixes of Smile track-by-track for other people to hear. At the time, there really wasn't a lot of Smile material to be found on YouTube, so I made the channel as a public service to other enthusiasts like me.

Anyway, on Christmas of last year (right when rumors were starting to circulate that Smile was going to be officially released), my channel got shut down. But right around that time, something interesting happened: I was contacted by a fellow who had just leaked two rare Beach Boys films from French archives, and he gave them to me for me to upload to YouTube.

So, on Christmas Day, right after my Smile channel had been shut down, I uploaded those videos to YouTube and linked to them here as a Christmas gift for this forum. Serendipity's a weird thing, ain't it?

But that's not even the end of it; after I'd uploaded those videos, I got contacted by another bootlegger who wanted to trade some of his stuff in exchange for the raw files of my videos. I ended up getting about 5 different bootlegs in total from that exchange.

So that's my Beach Boys story. Any questions?

I'm watching a Goofy movie (he has to go back to college where his son just starts). And when meeting a girl who also was young in the "70s" he puts out a shell and mentions that Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys stepped on that shelf. The girl says she was part of the party crowd on "Barbara Ann" and that she likes that "70s"-stuff

When I tell coworkers my favourite band is the Beach Boys they usually look at me as if I've just dropped my pants or asked them the square root of something.

That depends on the generation of your co-workers.

Back-in-the-day, there was no forum to discuss the music.  Having such a forum is a beautiful thing.

Square root! I forgot what that is!  :lol

Haha i would  never go to charleston, WV for spring break.  Seeing all those copies of pet sounds made me think If i was a multi-millionaire i would buy as many pet sounds copies as possible, and hand out the copies of the album to as many people as possible to spread the music of such a masterpiece.

I go to Charleston WV on Holiday several times a year.  They have wonderful blues and other music festivals and the Mayor is a car guy who supports and backs world class car shows along Kanawah Blvd.  Actually a very nice ambience and a pleasant place to spend a weekend.  Charleston is a short drive from the world famous New River Gorge where folks from all over the world come to enjoy white water rafting and base jumping from the New River Gorge Bridge.

Saw a guy wearing a Pet Soudns t-shirt after a McCartney concert 2 weeks ago  ;D I went there and talked to him a little bit, saying how rare it was to see a fan, etc.

Also, it's very cool when Good Vibrations comes up on a very weird part of Vanilla Sky, that is itself a very weird movie. I found it awesome because it highlighted the weirdness in the song that is often forgotten due the lyrics.

Funny this thread popped up, I was considering starting one like it.  The other day I was being dragged through the mall by my wife and we passed one of those Curves workout centers.  They have a big curtain up so you can't see the people working out, but I could hear the music they were playing loud and clear, and no joke, they were playing the Beach Boys version of Wipe Out with the Fat Boys.  I stopped in my tracks, and listened for a few seconds to make sure my ears weren't deceiving me.  Sure enough, it was Wipe Out.

You're right, Al's indeed a very kind & modest celebrity. I surely cannot imagine him saying that ego-phrase. Many other so-called stars often use it towards people/journalists/administrators, e.g. "I'm famous John Lennon, four-eyed Beatle", "I'm Bob Dylan, full stop" or "I'm Madonna who sings". And yada yada. But anyway, jimmy's story is an exception of rule, so it's understandable why Al addressed like that.

One more thing I'm gonna say is I'm very envious of those who had The BBs dreams, like Jay's one where he heard completed 1967' Smile. I only had dreams with total strangers (or horror monsters, creatures) & unknown b/g music which when I recalled & played note-for-note, it was all garbage.

Yesterday as I was waiting for my Kettlebell class to fill up at one of my corporate sites, I noticed a guy wearing an old Beach Boys shirt on the cable cross. He was probably in his late 20s and the shirt looked very old. I was basically staring at the back of his shirt trying to see if I could figure out what year it was from. Before I could solve the mystery I noticed one of the other trainers looking at me, totally thinking I was checking this guy out. I didn't think I would be able to explain, since basically no one knows about my BB obsession, so I went in to teach my class.

In 1998 I was in Guayaquil, Ecuador on business, and homesick.  During breakfast buffet in the Guayaquil Hilton, I heard "Your Imagination" on the piped-in music and it felt like a little gift from the universe to lift my spirits.  I heard it again later that year in a shop in Calgary, Alberta.  Never in the U.S. did I happen upon any song from that album...maybe it's true that Americans don't appreciate the Beach Boys as much as foreigners!

No doubt that's the reason BW premieres his new work in Europe.  Whereas it seems to me that Americans are bigger Beatles fans than the English, so maybe it's a little about the mystique of being from somewhere else.

So I'm watching ABC Nightline right now, and I'm about 25-30 minutes behind (rewound the DVR earlier to catch the end of Jimmy Kimmel), and there's a story about this woman who hired somebody to kill her husband.  I missed the beginning, but apparently there is a hidden camera, and the guy she was going to hire to kill her husband was an undercover cop. Now, why am I posting this here? Well, the radio is on in the background, and right at the part she is telling the guy how she wants the hit put out...well...the organ break in California Girls is playing. :lol

Besides this one...what is the oddest place you've heard Beach Boys music? I mean in real life, obviously, as otherwise I'd say hearing Good Vibrations in a fight scene in the hideous film Vanilla Sky.  ::)  I have a second contender, as I heard Brian Wilson's We Wish You a Merry Christmas at work today via the company radio. Yes...today...in July. I actually about lost my sh*t. I captured it on video, though... 8)

I never really expected to run into Brian Wilson in my sleep  ;D

Just the other day actually.  I had a dream that Brian was throwing a chain saw at me.  No sh*t.   :lol  It was like on a string or rubber band -- cuz he'd throw it at me and it would come back to him like a yo-yo, then he'd throw it back at me.  And he was laughing his crazy azz off.  I was freaking out obviously.  Yelling something like "you crazy mtha fkker!!!"

Why was it played?

There was a timeout during the game (stoppage in play) and they had gone to a TV commercial break so there was no play on the field. During that time either the college band plays or they play music over the stadium speakers and they happened to play Our Prayer over the speakers.
it's short enough for a timeout...so is And Your Dreams Come True.  ;)

Don't forget Ding Dang!

speaking of that song, I'm looking forward to the release of the 'extra verse' version on MIC which will surely be the mix heard in that 1975/76 interview with additional overdubs and fart moog all over. Hope is strong for this song to be listenable again! (single version ain't too bad)

I was in my car a few months ago absentmindedly switching from radio station to station and I stopped when I heard "Gee" on my High School radio station. It was the two-sided Heroes and Villains single, one of the last things I'd ever expected to hear on the radio, let alone my High School's station.

I'm just watching a german crime thriller and in quite a dark moment someone played a CD in a car and out comes "Wouldn't it be nice".
I pictured all this & it's indeed very random & qute amusing, considering WIBN is a very optimistic song.

Mr. Bag, your dream is waaay cool! My own dreams are just banal monsters & dwarfs.

Wow, this is terrific. It's my fave hot rod song by The Beach Boys. So another cool story.

I was in a small hill town in Sri Lanka last summer, when 'Rock and Roll Music' came out of a cafe window.  I wasn't sure if it was the Beach Boys' version (far away, lot of background noise) but it sounded like them.  We were staying in a small guesthouse which had some decent speakers and the owner told us we could be in charge of music for the evening.  So we gave Ding Dang and Vegetables as well as some other obscure tracks to the uber-cool travellers hanging out on the terrace.  I didn't hear what they were saying, but Ding Dang raised some surprised laughter.

At the bowling alley tonight, I heard "Hot Fun In The Summertime"...I was so thrown off, in a good way, that I couldn't stop talking about it with my friends, none of whom had ever heard it. In fact, none of them could distinguish the music from the background noise. There must be a name for this phenomenon, when you can hear something familiar, but have trouble hearing something unfamiliar.

I'm pretty sure the boys show up in Get on Up, the new James Brown biopic.
I don't remember if they say it or not, but I'm pretty sure that one of the sections is on the T.A.M.I. show. James walks down a hall backstage, and if you pay attention, he walks past an open doorway, with probably four of five guys in pendletones - one with a guitar - and they're singing/harmonizing.

Yup, I do actually have some type of fondness for it, it's the only song from that album on my phone! But still, my brain could've at least played Surf's Up or something...

Actually, I had another dream last night where I heard God Only Knows over the loudspeaker at the grocery store. Why can't I hear more Beach Boys songs out in public rather than in my head?

2. For a last-minute university project, I try to get Brian to tell me what makes George Gershwin unique.

So I'm reading Marvel Comics Hawkeye (2012) #16 this morning, by Annie Wu and Matt Fraction. The story is about Lady Hawkeye trying to make her way in L.A., and the cover of the comic book features an old school studio session tracking sheet. The story inside is about a very fictionalized rock and roll pioneer named "Will Bryson" and his abandoned "Wish" album, and he has since descended into madness/genius (cue plot about manipulation by his brother, NOTHING to do with Beach Boys feuding). There are a lot changes from BW, but it was a really neat thing to stumble across in a comic book run I've been enjoying. And it was a good story.

I think this belongs here? Lady Hawkeye sings the opening lyrics of "Wouldn't it be Nice" at one point.

The 1970's idea of the Brian Wilson story has become a cultural archetype.

I had a dream last night that I was a guest at Alan Boyd's house, and he let me onto his computer to listen to all of the unreleased Beach Boys tracks. I remember listening to at least Brian's instrumental piano demo of "'Til I Die" and Mike's original version of "Cool Head, Warm Heart" (which, contrary to my dream, has been bootlegged), and a never-before heard lost Beatles song (psychedelic-themed, featured no lead vocals, but Paul was prominent on backing vocals), but he unfortunately kicked me out before I got to listen to "Boys and Girls".

Ugh, someday...

Posted this in the General Music section but thought it would fit in here as well. It's about the new HBO documentary about Elvis Presley (watch it if you can!) and some of the vintge footage of music studios they used.

Interestingly, the studio footage they used is taken from different sources, since there's not much of Elvis' sessions. That way you can see quite a few times parts of the recently (a couple of years ago) discovered footage of the Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations" sessions.

Those SNL clips are apparently unavailable in the US for whatever reason.

But I remember the SNL "Larry King Live" bit with Tim Robbins doing Brian Wilson (and I think Kevin Nealon doing Larry King). Robbins certainly had some of Brian's Landy-era (late 80s/early 90s) mannerisms down. But it was certainly amplified/exaggerated for comedic effect, and if I recall correctly, while Robbins's impersonation was accurate enough, the running gag of sounds or calls startling Brian seemed pretty generic and broad and not very specific to Brian.

How tasteful the sketch is in retrospect knowing more accurately now what was going on with Brian, I guess that's open for debate.

I dislike Tim Robbins, puzzled that HeyJude didn't question what he's even doing in SNL. The guy is as funny as cutting board. Kevin Nealon is good comedian. Not sure about Larry King, that said, doesn't fit to play him. Btw, speaking of Larry King, his interviews tend to be real dullfest.
I'd like BBs impersonating each SNL cast member. It would be cool! I mean, why not do vice versa? Surely, it's within realm of possibility. It ain't impossible task.

I'm not an SNL expert or aficionado by any means, but as far as I can remember, Tim Robbins was not a cast member on SNL. He was doing that Brian Wilson bit because he was the guest host that particular week. Guest hosts (and even occasionally the week's musical guest) often participate in some of the sketches, especially when they're TV or film actors.

That being said, I have no problem with Tim Robbins. He's was and is a working actor and I've liked some of the stuff he's done, which includes some vaguely comedic roles.

The Beach Boys shouldn't impersonate anybody. They've usually done an *awful* job acting in the few guest spots they've done. I'm always hearing about how some of them are funny behind the scenes in real life, and I have no reason to doubt that. But they're not actors. They've always done a sketchy job even though they're usually playing *themselves*. Sure, being placed in dumb sitcoms hasn't helped. I'm not sure it's possible to do give Olivier a run for his money in an episode of "Full House" or "Home Improvement."

But yeah, about 95% of the time I've found something a Beach Boy has done as funny, it has been seemingly unintentional. Brian Wilson in tight leather pants singing "Night Time" is funny, but he wasn't trying to be funny.

Jimmy Barnes concert last night, Auckland. Warm up act leaving the stage and ‘Sail On Sailor’ album version comes on. Sounded great in a stadium setting.

I saw Solomon Burke live a few years before this concert. He did the exact same shtick with having roses handed out to the women in the audience, which for my money was more cringe than anything the BBs ever did onstage (and that is saying something). But man, one hell of a voice!
