I saw the tribute band 'The Musical box' at the Albert hall a few years ago (best live show i've ever seen even trumping (Sacrilege!) Brian doing Pet Sounds and Smile! Anyway, even though they'd already played 'Firth of Fifth' once, they did it again as an encore and Steve came on to play the guitar solo!
Title: Re: \ Post by: Big Bri on July 20, 2009, 04:10:50 AM I've seen "The Musical Box" four(4) times now and there are as close as anybody is going to get to duplicating what Genesis was like back in 1972-1975!! Awesome show and each of those musicians nail their parts to a Tee!!!
Then again, The Musical Box ARE sanctioned by Genesis to be the "official" tribute band of Genesis. Genesis even donated much of their early props and lighting to MB. Incidentally there's another Italian tribute band called 'The Garden Wall' who do versions of songs off 'From Genesis to Revelation' (one of my favourite albums even though the performances and production are pretty crap, the melodies shine through) with a full orchestra, you can find them on youtube, i'd really like to see it!

Since you love Genesis so much I have to ask......what do you think of Marillion? Fish era Marillion. I ask because I absolutely love Marillion from that era!!! I was very young in the 80s so was only aware of 'Kayleigh' at the time, but later on when I got into Genesis I did buy a couple of Marillion albums, I should have liked them in theory but something never clicked for me!
