Title: David Marks Appreciation Thread
Post by: Jason on February 11, 2006, 02:29:20 PM
He played that toes on the nose guitar once, man.

He was in the Burbank phone book for years when I lived there.  I was always on the verge of buying a Strat and phoning him to see if he gave lessons.  It would have been great to pick up some surf-style tricks from the first generation.  Too bad I'm so wishy-washy.  The worst he would have done is turned me down and maybe had my knees broken.

Nah, Dave's not that kinda guy. Dave's easygoing.

Really? After our knowledge of the true nature of Johnston, as the pop mafioso that he is, it would suprise me if Marks was on the level.

I have it on very good authority (our friends on the boards) that David's a great guy.

OK, but I wouldn't tell him his toes weren't properly on the nose.

Let's put it this way.
Murry had a beef with David.
Murry isn't alive any more.
See?

Marks is smart. Who would suspect him after that passage of time?

That's an intriguing theory on the Marksman.  I wonder if Mike is naturally bald or there's some kind of freaky occult vengeance going on there?

Actually, I don't think Marks would have had my kneecaps broken.  I was more worried that he would come over with a squirt-gun filled with urine.

Only if Joe is as big, fat, and ugly as Murry was.

And ladies, he's single.

Fortunately, though, I have mastered asexual reproduction.  Otherwise there would definitely be no more of me.

You want me to throw you my ex? Maybe the three of you can find another guy and have a dirty, smelly, sweaty, beautiful orgy. :)

I was fortunate to meet David Marks last summer at Susan's convention.  Nice guy.  Very approachable and a hell of a guitarist.

Guys, I must give a shoutout to David's album "Something Funny Goin' On". It's an awesome record, full of great pop songs. Great vocals from David, too. Buy it, it's wonderful.
