Title: It's A Beautiful Day lyrics Post by: Alf64 on January 07, 2009, 04:32:16 PM :listening I was wondering about the last verse specifically for many years. Al sings:
"... The freeways are jammed now the cars have dissapeared from the scene. 'cause goin' to work or to play they use a whole 'nother kind of machine" Was he referring to telecommuniting via computers way back then? I have been meaning to ask this for many years now. Title: Re: It's A Beautiful Day lyrics Post by: Aegir on January 07, 2009, 07:20:54 PM Well, It's a Beautiful Day is from the movie Americathon, which is about how the US ran out of oil and everyone rides bikes instead of driving. So think that line is referring to bicycles, perhaps.

Though hearing the song over the years kinda freaked me out how it "could" be a premonition of people in the future using the computer and the Internet to work instead of driving to work. Eery.
