Absolutely superb.

I wasn't going to buy this when it first came out ( I have all these tracks, already) but the sterero versions of some songs and great sequencing makes this a must-buy in my opinion.

I really liked it. It was interesting to hear the new stereo mixes but for the most part I felt they were inferior to Brian's original mono mixes especially: 1) All Summer Long and 2)Wendy. I still loved the remastering on all of the other tracks which means they really need to remaster the whole catalog. 'The Little Girl I Once Knew' and 'Forever' have never sounded better. Also, I REALLY REALLY LOVE the new version of 'Breakaway.'

I hope a best of the Brother Years CD follows soon. Along with remastering their entire catalog and releasing a strereo version of Wild Honey.

I liked it for the stereo mixes, but besides that, not really worth it because I already had all those songs when it came out.

Have all the songs in it, so wouldnt bother buying it. I am glad that its out there, though. its a great collection of some of their best and lesser-known songs and will hopefully do even more than Sounds of Summer to turn on casual listeners who most likely have never seen some these sides.

100% agreed. Seems like a lot of thought has gone in to this one. The stereo mixes are superb.

4. The stereo remixes are amazing. Please Let me Wonder in particular, wowed me.

Just got this today...absolutely love it... the remastered and stereo trax add new life to this music. I was so reluctant but I got compelled to buy it and I'm very content with this package. It is a 5 in the realm of compilation packages.

If you are skeptical, don't be. It can be found for cheap and is well worth it.

The entrie catalog was remastered in HDCD back in 2000-2001. Plus the remix of Breakaway is the same mix issued on "Hawthorne, CA" in 2001 with the studio chatter edited out of the intro.

I bought this a little while ago - I was actually looking for Summer Love Songs but saw this for $10 so I thought "why not". Anyway, I was listening to it just now and I noticed about 27 seconds into "Cool, Cool Water" there is a REALLY noticeable edit which is not on any of the other copies of this song. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just my copy perhaps?

I'm pretty sure that version is the 1971 (February?) single edit that was backed with Forever. The song was edited down from the 5 minute album version to a little under 3:30 for single release.

Yeah I realise that but just listening to it compared to say the Ten Years of Harmony version there is an obvious edit that is surely a mistake. As I say, maybe it's just my version?

Must be because they sound the same on both to me. I'm not sure what it could be.

How frustrating! I might have to see if I can get a replacement copy. Thanks for your help :)

See what you mean... it's certainly on the Spotify version.

Hang on... yup, also on the CD version, though not so very obviously.

But... the single edit on Ten Years Of Harmony doesn't have it, just a smooth cross-fade. Odd. I'm guessing that's just how it is.

A good compilation and great to see some lesser-known tracks appearing on a comp, however the decision to drop WIBNTLA was ridiculous! Also, hate the crappy edit on Cool Cool Water - why did they do this? - and what's with snipping the opening to Why Do Fools Fall In Love? Bizarre. Still, a good package, but I'd always rather hear unreleased material than a song I already have in mono/stereo/whatever.

The album does go on for almost 79 minutes, perhaps some trimming was necessary to fit it onto one CD? Though that does make me question why they would include the extended intro to "California Dreamin'".

Cool, Cool Water is the single edit, as is Why Do Fools Fall In Love. Both were created when they were released in 1970 and 1964 respectively.

The edit on Cool, Cool Water seems less obvious on "Ten Years of Harmony" - which also uses the single version, although the mastering on that compilation obviously doesn't stand up to the clarity of "Warmth of the Sun".

HOLY sh*t the "new stereo mix" of Please Let Me Wonder is gorgeous... gets me everytime... Brian never delivered a more sweet and innocent-sounding lead vocal.

Apart from that, great compilation. 5/5.

I probably enjoy this more than Sounds of Summer. But, like that compilation of better-known hits, this record contains far too many later-day mediocrities to be perfect. California Dreamin' - PLEEAAAAASE.

4 stars, all in all.

I like this compilation a lot. It flows pretty well and has an excellent song selection. 4 stars, because it has some songs I'm not fond of.

5/5  This is an excellent compilation with remastered and new stereo mixes.. Great sound and the tracks flow well together.. this and sounds of summer and 10years of harmony I made copies of  along with some live stuff are in my car all the time.. To combat noise pollution  from rappers with a tin ear and small vocabularies .. :afro

I bought this when I wanted to get copies of All Summer Long, Catch a Wave, and Forever to complete by best of collection with Sounds of Summer.

It took me a few years to really start to appreciate the early 70s material.  Without this compilation, I doubt I would've explored the rest of The Beach Boys' catalog.

If you're really trying to show somebody the greatness of The Beach Boys, play Sounds of Summer to get their attention, then this to show them that the Boys were much more than surf / car songs.

Does anyone remember what the bonus live download tracks were and if they can be found today?
