I was just wondering if people would be willing to recommend some books on the late 60's/70's L.A./Laurel Canyon Singer/Songwriter, Psychedelic music scene. Anything that pertains to this subject matter would be great to learn about. My object of study is Van Dyke Parks in particular, but I'd like to know about any LA books in particular so that I can provide proper historical context to discuss his work (I need additional references for an academic paper on him).
