Title: Some Interesting Finds - Alert Mark and Alan
Post by: petsite on July 05, 2022, 03:56:53 PM
When the 1999 Greatest Hits Of The Brother Years CD was compiled, I was told by some involved that the 45 version of HERE COMES THE NIGHT that was on all of the foreign releases had to be assembled from the LP track with the end bit lifted from vinyl as the 45 master could not be found. Don't know if it was ever found or not. Which makes these radio station reels seem more important. You all have heard me complain like the old man I am about how bad the polystyrene used for records in the 1970s-1980s was and how those records sounded like dog sh*t. Some radio stations in major markets started requesting reel to reel dubs as the 45s just sounded too bad to use on air, so the songs would need to be carted from reels instead. Welp, CBS' 45 were some of the WORST sounding of the lot, which accounts for these items, now for sale on ebay.
