Certainly an interesting, turbulent time for the boys. Hit and miss to say the least. Personally, I can't decide between Keepin' The Summer Alive and Beach Boys 85.

L.A. (Light Album)

Though, if we are including solo albums: Pacific Ocean Blue.

Agreed. Match Point of Our Love and My Diane, especially, are some of the best songs Brian wrote in late 70s.

Another favorite of mine is Beach Boys '85. The production may be bland, but once you come to appreciate the strength of the songwriting, it really is an enjoyable album. Crack at Your Love and Male Ego are my favorites. I even have a soft spot for "throwaway" stuff like I'm So Lonely and It's Just a Matter of Time.

BB 85. Great set of songs with amazing Carl vocals. I even like the production. In a universe in which they weren't seen as an oldies act in the mid-80s, this album would have produced multiple hit singles.

Have to say that the ones I listen to most are MIU and That’s Why God Made the Radio-though on both I skip a few songs

LA (Light Album). Dump the 10 minute disco track, and you've got the best BB's album since Holland.

Very difficult. Except for SIP, all of their post-LY albums were still listenable imho but nothing matches the golden era from '63 'til '68 and the best of their 70s material. Light Album is a good listen and Good Timin' is one of my favorite BB songs, so I'll probably go with that one, even though Brian's absence is a bit depressing here.

TWGMTR. No matter my enjoyment of five BB85 tracks, it’s still only five. Unlike that one, TWGMTR is mostly a great album.

(‘Where I Belong’ is better the anything on TWGMTR, though.)

If I can remove one track (guess which one, lol) LA. (Light Album). As it is, Beach Boys 85.
If we are including solo albums, Youngblood and Brian Wilson 88. Or Orange Crate Art.

MIU and TWGMTR get a spin once in a while in my house, as does LA Light. KTSA and BBs 85 are gathering dust and SIP has been tossed, as has Stars and Stripes.
