Title: 1967 Radio Ad for \
Post by: c-man on April 22, 2019, 04:15:52 PM
This morning, Chris Carter played an official fall 1967 Capitol radio ad for the Magical Mystery Tour album on his "Breakfast With The Beatles" show. The ad included snippets of album cuts "Hello Goodbye", "All You Need Is Love", and "Strawberry Fields Forever". Great to hear, but really surprising to hear a plug for the then-current Beach Boys album, Wild Honey, in the same ad!  Behind snippets of "I Was Made To Love Her" and "Darlin'", the announcer said something like, "Also available is the new Beach Boys album, Wild Honey, with a great happenin' sound on songs like the new single "Darlin'!'" (or words to that effect) Very cool!

I'd love to hear that! Too bad I let my subscription expire.
