Title: "The Day You Left Me" by Ray Sharpe
Post by: Shane on November 10, 2018, 01:22:11 AM
I'm looking at the inside gatefold of "Brian Wilson Rarities", the Australia-only compilation LP.  There's a section there labeled "Other Brian Wilson Compositions not recorded by the Beach Boys".  One of the singles listed is something I don't recognize, a Ray Sharpe tune called "The Day You Left Me".  Supposedly this record came out in 1963.  The writer credit on the 45 is "B. Wilson".  Is this indeed a Brian composition, or was it written by someone else who happens to have the first initial B and the last name Wilson?

I'm guessing it's meant for Bob Wilson.

This might be the song you're taking about: https://books.google.com/books?id=iy4hAQAAIAAJ&pg=PA1291&lpg=PA1291&dq="the+day+you+left+me"+"bob+wilson"&source=bl&ots=cbCCB7GfEZ&sig=toJq4t4Yn-eKoHdWpxxpV5zJrLo&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi8hOzVx8reAhXIooMKHSYuAk4Q6AEwAHoECAIQAQ#v=onepage&q="the%20day%20you%20left%20me"%20"bob%20wilson"&f=false

Hope this helps.

Thank you for checking for me.  So that's another 45 I DON'T have to get.   ;D
