Title: Dreamer: The Making Of Dennis Wilson's "Pacific Ocean Blue"
Post by: Howie Edelson on February 23, 2018, 09:28:28 AM
Cannot believe this isn't being discussed ad nauseam all day every day on the board.

A colossal accomplishment worthy of its subject. A major, major work.

Worth your time and money.

Hopefully this will help re-remind people of its existence. I'm hoping to work up the funds for a copy soon.

Hopefully, while I know it can be a hassle or cost prohibitive (I have little doubt Ken Sharp isn't getting rich off this book as it is), this book might eventually make it to Amazon as well. I think it could move a good amount of copies there as well.

For folks who don't know of Sharp, I've read his stuff for years in Beatlefan, Goldmine, and probably a bunch of other venues. His 1999/2000 Goldmine interview with Al Jardine is still a must-read all these years later.

Somebody working on behalf of the Dennis estate should be working out deals to bundle this book with the POB deluxe CD set and make the whole thing a big thing again. Or at least promote this stuff on some online avenue. Could we at least get Brian and Al to push it on their social media?

Howie -- I never knew it even existed. This is a recurring problem with new releases about the BB, whether books or CDs

Zesterz  - You'll love it. It's an amazingly crafted work.

NO ONE will walk away from reading this disappointed in the least.
Best case scenario -- it's like Ken's Lennon book on steroids.

Same here.  Either that or I have forgotten.

I'll throw a mention of the book up again on my BB Facebook page, hopefully that'll get some eyes on it.

I highly recommend this book!

The original thread was probably overshadowed by the Unleash The Love thread.

Yeah, there was another thread when it came out but it really deserved more attention. An incredibly well written/researched/etc book with so much info I've never heard before....Just great. A real pleasure to read about such an incredible album.

Considering all the hundreds (thousands?) of hours this book must have taken to put together im sure hes not getting rich off it, it has to be a labour of love. But you can tell, because he did an incredible job.

Anyways, great book. Job well done!!! Worth getting...Hopefully itll be on Amazon (maybe even e-book kindle version) sometime.
