Title: LA Fires 2017
Post by: Stephen W. Desper on December 06, 2017, 11:08:35 AM
COMMENT:  Been watching the coverage from KTLA in Los Angeles (http://ktla.com/on-air/live-streaming) and according to the reports, the fires are now close to the neighborhoods where Brian, Carl and Michael use to live and have homes. Dennis' rented log cabin also in the general area. These are all their old, previously owned houses of decades ago, but still can't help but think of the memories that may (or could) be lost. ~swd

Thanks Stephen, truly a heartbreaking time for so many people and families there. That picture is a thing of nightmares.

Just awful. My coworker's husband knows someone who lost their home in this fire.

Horrific. Astonishingly, it doesn't seem to be news here in NL...

Thinking of the folks in and around LA.

The Thomas fire has now become the third largest in CA's records, in terms of acreage. It continues pushing westward, and now pretty much all of Montecito, where Bruce Johnston lives, is under mandatory evacuation. Wishing good luck for Bruce....

I hope these fires will be able to get extinguished soon. Sounds horrific.

I know this doesn't really matter, but for a connection to the BBs and/or LA's music history, Jan Berry's old home was victim of the fires:

A neighborhood that burned in 1961 can come together again after another devastating fire

It's major news in NL these days. rab2591 used the word "nightmare"----too true.

It's already taken the life of one firefighter. Let's hope it dies down soon. Those poor folks...
