Title: Humming Beach Boys lyrics over other songs
Post by: CenturyDeprived on November 27, 2017, 02:39:55 PM
Give a listen to the Sonic Youth song "Mote" at 1:06, where the lyric sounds like: "I've seen your act in Vegas, out of sight"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIO2CVbK5nQ#t=1m06s

Somehow, after having heard The BBs' "Johnny Carson", I can now never hear this Sonic Youth song without wanting to sing along and (very slightly) change the lyrics to match it.

Has anyone else experienced this type of phenomenon with other BBs songs?

They're both Beach Boys songs but sometimes I combine these two or sing one over the other: Little Honda and All I want to Do

That's pretty cool - which of those songs are you singing over the other? And what part(s) specifically?

I always sing "Faster, it's all right" from Little Honda at the end of the chorus of All I Want to Do.  Don't remember the part, I'll listen to it later and edit this post.

EDIT: Near the end of the chorus right before Mike's last line.

One in reverse - you can sing bit's of Chicory Tip's Son Of My Father over the opening lines of the verses to Little Deuce Coup. :lol
