While it's positive and should encourage some people to buy who wouldn't otherwise...I think he's off the mark in the sense that Brian's music--even at its most "simple"--really rewards a look under the hood. His relationship to musical form is unusual, and as I tried to say elsewhere, it has a singular consistency no matter what arrangement/production values are applied to it. That's what's missing in this piece IMO--it oddly sidesteps WILD HONEY when a look under the hood really shows us something astonishing about this material that wasn't apparent otherwise....
