Title: What songs from POB were performed live besides River Song?
Post by: hongkongcrowe on January 28, 2017, 08:03:35 AM
i'm rediscovering POB  and I'm so impressed by how it seems to just get better over time.  I know River Song was performed live, but what about the other songs, namely the title track which would have been incredible live.   It's rhythm would have been a great segue a classic BB tune - any ideas?

http://beachboysarchives.com/page11:

...When POB was released in late August, Dennis actually opened a couple of Beach Boys shows (at Pine Knob in Michigan) with a short solo set following "official" tour opener Ricci Martin...According to Bobby Figueroa, there was no real rehearsal, just a quick run-through at soundcheck: "We'd do a half-hour set before The Beach Boys came on, but it didn't last very long..."...By the time the tour hit Canada a few days later, Dennis' solo set had shrunk to just two songs ("What's Wrong" and "Friday Night") performed in the middle of The Beach Boys' show, and even that lasted only for a couple of shows at the most...

Too bad tapes of those Pine Knob shows (or even the Canadian shows, for that matter) have never surfaced....

I think David Marks has performed both "You And I" and the title song live...and of course, there's the great live Carl & Dennis tribute CD from Adam Marsland and friends (including Alan Boyd)...some POB stuff is on that...
