Title: Christmas album MONO Post by: Micha on December 25, 2015, 11:52:51 AM Yesterday (Christmas Eve) I listened to the mono Christmas album for the first time ever. There were quite a few surprises. The jazzy cymbal on "Frosty The Snowman" seemed much more up front than in the stereo version, also a violin line in "We Three Kings".
The most baffling though was that "Merry Christmas Baby" faded out way too early, at the beginning of the third verse. Is that a vintage Brian Wilson mix? If so, that must be Brian's poorest mixing choice EVER. Ruins the song in a way. Even if it wasn't Brian, why does one fade out right in the last verse? Is that the case on the original release also?
