Title: Russ Wapensky LA sessions book
Post by: Andrew G. Doe on June 20, 2006, 03:16:15 PM
This thing's been supposed to be coming out soon longer than Brian's been talking about doing a rock & roll album, so yesterday I did the obvious thing and contacted his publishers for info.

Bad news - Greenwood cancelled the contract in late 2001. 'Course, he may have a new publisher. Here's hoping...

Yeah, really a shame.  It would have been a neat read.  Thanks for checking up on it, Andrew.

A bummer indeed.  It's been ten years since I bought my house, got internet access, and first heard of this thing.

Let's not even mention Brad's session book that many of us helped finance...

Or the complete Hite Morgan sessions CD, which others of us helped finance...
oh well, starting to get off topic here...

Well, if the excerpt of Brad's session book in DAG#4 is any indication, I'm almost glad it didn't come out.  Lots of wrong information about recording sessions.

Yeah I have to say that info was pretty outdated.

If you can find it, Brad Elliott's reference DAT of the Rarities album has more than a few surprises on it, least of all a vintage 1963 instrumental.

No comment. My lawyers tell me to avoid Brad-bashing.

Yes perhaps we should not post this stuff on a public board. PM is a good idea if one wants to discuss things like this.

Yeah, that one sat around too long. . . . Definite errors on some of the J&D related stuff.

I see no problem if the facts stated are accurate. Libel & slander is something else entirely... but the fact is that Brad took money from many people, promising a product, failed to deliver and also failed to refund the cash. More than once. This is a fact, as people here have affirmed.

Person who benefits the most from this book not appearing?  Carol Kaye

I see your point Andrew. All I will say is that he and another author (no one on this board) made things very difficult for me when I began to do some reasearch of my own. Thankfully I was able to help some people with the things I learned during the incidents.
